for the last 3 decades, there has been a huge wave of humanism in the West taking the focus off Christ & putting it on a selfish mentality based on the belief that man is in control of his own destiny and is "all-important'' elevating man as an entity and â the stressing the importance of need for Christ and a relationship with our God. It is very sad; because of it fornication, adultery, pornography, violence, materialism and many other decadence's have rared their ugly heads in our society on a mass scale....make no mistake...God is watching and there WILL be a reckoning.

The loss of Christianity, and all events related to it, is actually predicted, with great accuracy, in the Bible (I apologize if the references are lengthy, for they answer your question with sheer sobering reality):
"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places...
Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.
And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
Then many false prophets will rise up and decieve many.
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold." - Matthew 24: 6-7, 9-12
And with regards to lawlessness, the Bible specifies it to a degree:
"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and God-head, so that they are without excuse,
Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened...
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves...
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness;
Backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;
Who, knowing the righteous judgement of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them." - Romans 1: 20-21, 26-32
And why does God allow the world, not just the West, to head down this terrible path? It is true that God lets us have what we want at times, but why allow this? In order to judge all sin and purge it once and for all at the coming judgement. That is another topic altogether, and perhaps we could discuss this in the future...
But what does this mean for us, who now know that this world would not get better but worse?
"There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answered and said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish..." - Luke 13: 1-3
Thus, despite what happens around us and the amount of sinfulness that exists in the world, one must remain faithful in Christ. The relatively great sinfulness of the world is not an excuse for our unbelief or our own sinfulness...
