I know that God loves us by the fact that He sent His only begotten Son to die a terrible death on the Cross so that our sins could be forgiven. I know God loves us because of my relationship with God. He has helped me over and over again and has never given up on me.
You may think your life is hopeless but that doesn't mean that it is. I am physically disabled to the point that I am in constant pain,
I can not lift more than 1/2 lb. and cannot carry over 1/4th lb. I'm
63 y/o, my wife left me 5 years ago because of my physical disabilities and because of the Major Depression I developed due to it, no woman would want me in my present condition, and in the 6 years since my condition got this bad; Surgery and physical therapy have not helped.
I say this before I ask, when you say that your life is hopeless, don't you really mean, you have litlle hope that you will get the things that you want in life? Things are not hopeless for me because my hope is no longer in the things of this world. My hope is for eternal joy in Heaven.
Intellectually, I knew the truth of that before, but I really know it now. Jesus wants us to be Friends of His but first we must be servants. Is there anyone you can be of help to? There are many worthy charities; by donating money to them, you are assisting in helping those they help.
When things were worst, the only thing I could do was plead for help. Try praying for little things that you need and watch God help you. Read Jesus teachings in the Gospels, look in your life to see where you are not doing what He said and make a change.
Do what Jesus said to do. Obey the 10 Commandments. When you fail, ask for forgiveness and try again. You will see your relationship with God grow closer and closer.
Then will you get what you want? You will get what is best for you, isn't that what you really want, what is best for you?
There is a saying of a preacher where I live, "When things look bad, God looks good." Isn't it a shame that things have to get so bad before we look to God for our needs?
You asked for general advise and not based on any particular religion. Sorry, that isn't possible. God is real and the truth is the truth.

I read the Urantia Book and it does explain the answers to everything you would ever want to know. Some of the UB readers talked about "stillness". I tried this and WOW!!! After a few sessions, I was able to feel the love all around and through me, it was the most incredible moment of my life. It really is possible to know God's love first hand. I shall never doubt again. Do try it! :-)

God loves all unconditionally. God gave us loose will understanding finished nicely that all and sundry human beings would desire to apply that loose will to cut up ourselves from the limitless. So why might God end loving us if we are in basic terms workout the loose will that "he" gave to us interior the 1st place. God hopes all us will make a greater clever determination and seek for oneness with God instead of separation even though it remains our loose will to no longer seek for this oneness. in actuality we are all extensions of the limitless, yet we could continually understand that interior ourselves earlier it rather is a take place actuality in our beings. additionally there is rather little distinction between Christians and Atheists. the two deny God. Atheists deny God exists in any respect at the same time as Christians deny God lives interior themselves. They try this although Jesus stated that the dominion of God is interior you.

Yes, I know God loves you because His word in the bible says so.
If you only knew that you can trust His word, you would never doubt He loves you, ever again. Don't you want that kind of assurance, that kind of confidence? Jesus said heaven and earth would pass away...but His word will never pass away.
Things in this world go up and down; circumstances are good and bad...but God is always the same, eternally. He loves you and He has a good future for you....turn to Him and trust Him.

You are not dead yet. If God did not love you, he would have put you to death the very first time you did something that was wrong.
I know that didn't sound too inspiring, but I am telling the truth.......

When you truely love yourself and love your neighbor unconditionally.
"Sinners who faithless still there's hope....Read the history but who's the authors?/ For some the game is easy, but most of us the game is much harder/ But never lose faith throught the years just get smarter/ghetto prisoners, ghetto prisoners-
ghetto prisoners rise rise rise..." -Nas in Ghetto prisoners
Never lose faith. Look at the bright side.

He sent his son to die on the cross for our sins. If you had a son could you just let die for no apparent reason to save everybody in the world. Think about that
