The only way to stop him is to contain him...a big dog crate (the airline style) with his littler pan, food, water and bed would be fine.
Watch him like a hawk when you are around - you might try putting a harness & leash on him so you can keep him with you.
Get a clean, rinsed and dried cola or beer can, put 6-8 pennies in it and tape up the top.
When you see him getting in position to spray, shake the can behind your back. The noise will startle him, and hopefully he'll move on to a different activity. You may need to toss it across the room...try NOT to hit him with it. The sound it makes when it lands will also startle him out of spraying.
Remember, it takes a few weeks for the testosterone level to be substantially reduced after neutering, so you'll still have to watch him like a hawk.
Nature's Miracle and a black light. This solution neutralizes the ammonia in urine and your cat won't keep going back to the spot that smells like him. It also has only a very mild odor of it's own, and will not pull the color out of most carpet or uphostery. You can also add it to your laundry with the soap.
The black light will show up old stains so you can clean them up also.
Best wishes!

He may never stop now that he has started. Males should be neutered no later than 4-5 months of age, however sometimes you don't have the cat until it is mature. There are products at pet stores that claim to work, and I've heard that white vinegar helps too.

I even have between 3-6 cats, no longer telling all and sundry. in basic terms 2 dont pee. I even have this concern too. attempt putting catnip via the clutter container so he will pass in it. Spray undesirable smelling stuff the place he pees and he wont like that spot. Wait, in basic terms spray undesirable stuff whereever u dont choose him to pee. and that i've got a question, on a thank you to do away with the scent. inspect each and all of the solutions I have been given (additionally the question has info!) i'm no longer gonna write each and every thing

Non biological soap powder should remove the smell. I think you could use some twisted psychology to get him to stop. A water pistol with a *tiny* amount of ammonia in the water ( tiny...you do not want to blind him ). Squirt it at him when he sprays.

He is not going to stop until he is neutered. Even then it may be two, three weeks before all the testosterone leaves his system.
