Luke 23.44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, while the sun's light failed; and the curtain of the temple was torn in two. ****THEN*** Jesus, criying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." Having said this, he breathed his last.
Matt27.50 Then Jesus cried again with a loud voice and breathed his last. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn is two, from top to bottom.
From Luke is is clear curtain was torn THEN Jesus died. From Matt it's the oppsite (or close to it) it happened at the same time.
This proves that the bible isn't prefect...so what should we believe and what shouldn't we?
This isn't a small event either...this is one of the biggest most important moments in the bible.

"Perfection" is not defined by "consistency."?
How is consistency not part of perfection?

This is proof because Christians need the bible to be perfect, otherwise they has no grounds to say what is true and what isn't.
What did Son of God mean then...The only Son of God or that he was a son of God just like all of us are children of God?

I still stand by the axiomatic approach...I just didn't have enough space to fit it all in.
Also I choose this example because it is the most important part of the bible.

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are personal accounts as to what took place during the life and walk of Jesus. Could it be possible that one was standing closer to the curtain then the other???

I don't know what version your reading this out of. But most of the ones I have do not say "then" of "after this" or any words to imply that one event happened before or after the other. Now I only have about 6 different ones and there are a lot more than that out there. So I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you found a version somewhere that says it the way you wrote it. I doubt it, but for the sake of moving this debate along, I'll go with it.
That is not the way biblical interpretation works. Nobody has ever said that the bible could not be mistranslated. Or that there could not be a typographical error. There are copyist errors. There maybe typos, and there are certainly mistranslations. Did you really think we meant that God would somehow keep a printing press from putting the wrong letter on the page of a Chinese version done in somebodies basement? That is crazy. What we believe is that the bible was inspired by God. He directed the men who wrote it. The message is perfect. It does not contradict itself. People on the other hand are prone to mistakes. We have misinterpreted, mistranslated, misunderstood it, and even copied it wrong. Those are all our faults, not the Bible's

Noticed you got rid of your Science and Axiom concepts!
Despite all the tinkering the Catholics and Protestants did with the Bible they didn't re-write that one. They saw it. There must be a reason for leaving it there!
Maybe there were TWO different curtians and one tore before and one after.
Yu don't know who was looking at what or what their positions in the area was!
And you're missing the biggest holes of all! Jesus was arrested at late night or early morning, taken before the Pharasees, Pilate then TROTTED OFF TO SEE HEROD in another provice in an era with out Cars. Camels do what, 15 miles per hour! How long is a round trip. Did they make Jesus walk or take a camel! How far is Gallelie from Jerusalem? How far is it by car at 65 MPH!
He's gotta be back to Pilate, get whipped, crisified and DIE by 1 PM We are talking a time span of 14 hours maximum and 12 hours minimum?
We are talking a road trip!
You can certainly figure better examples then the ones you site!

I'm an atheist, but the fact that there exists inaccuracies in the bible isn't really proof against christians. It simply means that there were two different people telling the story. The bible includes 4 different versions of the same events for a reason. If you heard 4 different testimonies about a murder trial, and there were slight differences about times, but basically had all the exact same things happening you wouldn't just assume that the whole story was wrong.
That said there are plenty of better ways of messing with christians.

The bible is not perfect, yet it is true, why? Because these gospels were written after the death of Jesus Christ by MORTAL men, and mortals have to rely on their imperfect memories. Christ did not write the gospels or any other book in the bible, men and women did and all were imperfect. In addition even if the Savior Himself had initially written every word in the bible it would now be imperfect, why? Because it has been translated dozens of times, many christian religions have bibles that do not agree with the other versions exactly!

It proves that Luke wrote one book, and Matthew wrote another.
"Perfection" is not defined by "consistency."
The fact that four separate men wrote about the life and death of Jesus Christ surely should make some other impression on you.
Like, how were they all so intelligent, sensitive, and literate--and yet insane enough to believe that Jesus was the son of God when he wasn't?
They were different men, so they had different vantage points. There is nothing outrageous about that at all.

Look at eyewitnesses in a court case. Many times people who see the same event, interpret it differently.
Better examples of the bible's inconsistencies would be in Genesis. God creates Adam and Eve at the same time, then creates Adam, and then Eve later. God lies to Adam about the consequences of eating the fruit, and talks to OTHER GODS!!!

Time, timing.
When they said an hour back then it was about 3 hours to us. You only worked 3 hours a day Morning to Night!
and you complain that an event that was virtually simultaneous they could not tell which came first?
Were lucky that they did not say in the same hour!

It only proves the bible wasn't translated perfectly. Things change after being translated from one language to the next. But if you believe you...of all people..lol...have found the smoking gun then blissfully enjoy your life in this world, just in case it costs you in the next life.
