I did my IELTS exam two and a half years ago. I also was nervous about the speaking part. But it was not bad at all. Whoever will test you asks you a question about a specific topic. I was asked about my childhood and if I thought that being a child has changed over the years. They won't ask you anything that you can't answer. Don't make yourself too nervous about it.
Practice your skills by talking English and reading a lot of English texts.
My overall test result was an 8, a 9 being the level of a native speaker. Get some IELTS books to practice on amazon or in a bookstore. Good luck!!!!

Try to use correct grammar during speaking. In my IELTS test I was asked simple questions but I tried to answer in long sentences.I used some good words during speaking and Foe grammar ,I used "passive tense"," used to" and if clauses.
As I used to be a teacher,I knew that these grammars play an important role in speaking marks.

IELTS exam especially speaking test doesnt test our( i mean us coz i'm going to take as well) speaking and language ability.its more to test our knowledge on global issues and use it precisely as examples wherever possible...
Lots of speaking will help, but reading magazines will do as well..
i think those are the tips that i can give...
one more thing, during the test itself, try to calm down and think carefully before answering the question given...
Bye and good luck..

One tip: if the tester uses a word you don't understand, you can ask for a definition and they will give it.
