I trying the Atkins diet. Is tuna sald low carb? (1can tuna, light mayo) Ps. - I looked on my mayo jar and it says there is no carbs) No carbs in mayo? I never knew. And the Atkins diet says you can eat as much meat as you want , which tuna is on the list, so therefore, wouldn't tuna salad be ok?

I do low carb and if you make it with mayonaise, boiled eggs and the sugar free relish you can buy at the store then it is. If you cannot find sugar free relish then you can use dill but the taste of course is different. You cannot use miracle whip because that has sugar in it.

I would like to say however, that I have been doing Atkins for 2 1/2 years. But it's not a "diet" because "diets" are temporary and the way I eat is a lifestyle change. Any diet no matter what you choose will not work unless you change the way you eat. Sure you will lose weight but gain it back in a whoosh if you stop watching what you eat. This goes for any diet.

If you crush pork rinds (sounds yucky but it isn't) mix it with tuna or salmon and a egg you can make wonderful tuna or salmon patties too. If you hate pork rinds then try parmesean cheese to mix it with.

Tuna is excellent for protein and depending what salads you put with it you could make the salads carb level rise. Avoid mayonaisse all together. It may say no carbs but they have to be hiding the naughtyness somewhere. Make your salad with plenty of celery, cucumber, rocket and water cress. If you want a bit more flavour put in about 1/2 a medium size tomato and some red capsicum. If you don't mind chilli add a bit of that. It helps speed up your metabolism. If your on a low carb diet though you should be very careful. Its not safe to take away your energy so i hope you have spoken to your doctor about it.

Anyway all the best :)

Try boiled eggs with some vegies for brekky and dont eat with in 5 hours of 3 meals every day. try to limit your red meat to 2 times a week. use fish, chicken breast with no skin , tuna, and salad on alternative. I realise you only asked about tuna salad but i have been looking into all these fad diets.

Oh BEST OF LUCK !!!

tuna salad would have nearly no carbs in it. mayo is made primarily from eggs, so no carbs there. but there's so much fat in it. maybe try tuna salad with light cream cheese instead?

Theorhetically yes it would be good. Do you understand how to do the Atkins diet? I think if you read the book you could be more certain about your choices. You could also find out what supplements to take to prevent your hair from falling out.

All fish and meat are low carb. They only contain protein and fat.
