What do you think is better Amelia or Emilea? Pick one and explain why (please). We're going to go with Gwendolyn as a middle name and we can decide Amelia or Emilea.

I prefer the first spelling, Amelia, if I must choose. Right away, I know what the name is and how to pronounce it. The second spelling is more difficult and people would be mispronouncing and mispelling her name forever. I chose very traditional first names and spellings for my children and then left the unusual for the middle names. Ultimately, you need to do what is right for you. You don't have to decide beforehand, either. You can wait until she is born and look into her eyes and she will tell you what her name is.

Amelia its different enough as it is, and the worst you can do if give it an even weirder spelling. Right off the bat i knew how to pronounce Amelia but Emilea took me a second. and You might have a better chance to find Amelia on a keychain on your vacation. It also looks nicer. emilea remineds me of emilio and thats not good

I am not a fan of either but I love Gewndolyn, as the first name then Amelia as the second, it sounds better to me out loud that way, but between them as a first name, I would go with Amelia, I have heard Emilea a lot and I like names that set kids a part. My girls are Elara and Addison.

I like Amelia. If you're going to pick a pretty name that is unique and doesn't require alternative spelling, go with the more traditional one. Amelia is a beautiful name. Emilea sounds like you're trying too hard to be unique...but it doesn't require that, in my opinion. My son's name is Ciaran...not Kieran...because that is the Irish/Gaelic version, and the other is the British version, and that was important to his father.

Go with the traditional spelling "Amelia" otherwise she will have to spell it for everyone her whole life.
Also. Emilea could be pronounced "Emmy Lee". Don't burden your daughter with ambiguity. She's going to have enough problems, don't you think?

OK so you have chosen Gwendolyn, a wonderfully classic name. To stay with that line you must have Amelia which is the classic spelling, not beginning with an E.

Emilea sounds the most uncommon...which is a good thing.

Neither. Amelia reminds me of those Amelia Bedelia books they used to read us in grade school and Emilia just looks like it's spelled wrong. Why don't you just make Gwendolyn her first name?
