It is already counted in the total amound of calories. Calories from Fat is how many calories is from pure fat. Remember, there are 9 calories to a gram of fat, which is more than double a gram of each protein and carbohydrate, both with 4 calories. So if something is 100 calories and 80 of those calores are "from fat" than that is a very unhealthy food!!

calories from fat are counted in the total printed calorie count on foods... however, keep track of the "percent" column. While you may be below your target caloric intake you should not pass 100% of the daily allowable. Staying around 60% would be great!

the calories on a food are all inclusive and most foods that are packaged tell you how much is from fat. so read the labels, on fresh meats its harder to figure.
