I mean if Heaven was just a constant state of euphoria, wouldn't you end up losing your conscious? What's the point in that? If I just put someone on heroin for 80 years straight, and he doesn't die, his life still would've been meaningless no matter how "hedonistic."

Singing eternal praises to God sounds like the height of boredom to me, hence I refuse to believe in the common notion of heaven.

If you're a good boy, you can ask God in person what the greatest part of being in heaven is, if you haven't figured it out before you ask Him.

I am continually amazed at how agnostics and atheists come to the Religion and Spirituality section and espouse their non-belief as if they were going to convert a believer into a non-believer. If you have no interest or belief in God, it makes no sense to talk about it with you.

I am also amazed that if someone is asked to do such a simple thing as to accept someone as their saviour or lose their soul, why would that someone be so stubborn and hardheaded so as to lose one of the most valuable parts of his being which will die or live depending on his heart and beliefs.

Such a simple thing to do, that would pay off immensely.

Apparently you are still looking for that one all important answer that has not yet satisfied your curiosity.

I hope that someone will say it the way you need to hear it so that you will understand and come to believe. I wouldn't wish an eternity in Hell to anyone. That's the beauty of forgiveness. I can't really tell you what Heaven is really like, because I have no first hand knowledge. I only know that I hope to spend eternity in a good place, and not in a bad one.

If there is no heaven or hell, then what is the purpose to life?

Don't you think that since there would be no reward for having a good life, that many people would just commit suicide to get it over with?
So why are we here? What is the purpose? Give me an alternative reason to live. Why do you continue to get up every morning and do what you do each day? What motivates you to keep living? I am not telling you to commit suicide, but I want you to figure this out. Why is there life in the first place when so many places in the universe have no life? There must be a reason, don't you agree? Why here? Why us? Why do we have emotions such as love and hate? Joy and sadness? I feel sorry for those who can find no joy in life, who cannot find a reason to thank their Creator for putting you here and allow you to experience this life.

I hope you will soon hear what you need to hear to finally help you understand. Take care.

One last thought> Just because you don't believe in the existence of these places doesn't mean they don't exist in whatever form.
You may think that you can touch a red hot iron and that it won't burn you. Touch it and see what happens.

My question is this, some of are greatest loves here on earth are considered sins, or sins if you do them to much. Like sex (often unmarried), drinking, or drugs for some people. This is to just name a few. So what makes heaven so great, I am sure it is great. I just wonder what we would do up there for eternity. And one person said that we would praise and worship with Jesus. No offense, but that isn't exactly my description of a good time. I guess we would spend eternity in heaven with our loved ones. But what if you die alone, then do spend eternity alone.

Creating heaven is just that...it is whatever you would like your life to be....It does not have to be the same thing. It is a state of mind as well. You can change it a any second of the day. So, choice weather you want heaven or hell.....be creative or meaningless? Whatever you have the power.

Dude... there's no hell or heaven.

It's all made up by our fore-fore parents. A constant brain washing to scare the crap out of you. I tell you what, If you were to deny and convince yourself that there's no heaven or hell - you won't be asking this question. Simple analogy, if you don't know what's beyond our planet - why ask. All these hell and heaven thing is totally made up. When you die , that's right, you're not going anywhere. You conscious mind terminate itself and refuse to think. Just like a battery, when it's out of juice - it just died. So will you - we just DIE. We are not going to heaven nor hell just worm food.

To me the best part about heaven is the fact that no longer will you need to eat or drink if you dont want to. It is totaly possible for are bodys to become self sufficent if we had an unlimited power sorce that God/Universe has made for us in all its wisdom and love. I could be wrong but I can pray and hope im not.

doesn't sound so bad to me with the alternative being non-consuming burning for eternity! Hon, I'm the victim of third degree burns which devastated 30 percent of my body, and though I know anyone who hasn't been through it can't relate to it, trust me....ONE SECOND OF IT IS LIKE 24 HOURS! An eternity of it would be unspeakable! Give me the heroine ANYTIME!

Do you want others to keep explaining heaven?

THE BEST PART OF IT, NONE OF US HAS A CLUE.
I DO THINK THE ONES THAT GET CHOSEN WILL SHOW A GREATER RESPECT FOR IT THAN YOU DO.

Ephesians 2:6 that it is available to be spiritually lived in, in Christ now and not have to be waited for except in its fullness, "that already exists in Christ".
