Good question....
Yeah its basic economics.....Contary to popular belief, illegals do keep inflation down...As a result, prices for goods and services are lower, and citizens can PURCHASE more....
Plus immigrants are consumers too. Another myth, is that illegals send all there money to Mexico, WRONG, 80 percent of what illegals earn, STAYS in the US.
Also, by taking the least desirable jobs, they have kept some industries competitive, that would have gone to China or Mexico....So your right, illegals are good for the economy!

There's a difference between immigrants and illegals. This country was fouonded on immigration, but it was done by those who wanted to become a part of this country's infrastructure, not take advantage of it. Why should the rest of the citizens of this country support welfare and medicade cases for people who disregard our laws, and refuse to accept American citizenship?

As for farm labor, in the past it was done by hoeboes, which got their name from being seen carrying a hoe over their shoulder from town to town. Today they are called the homeless and are not expected to find work to feed themselves. As far as immigrants doing jobs Americans won't do, a large portion of those jobs pay $55,000 a year in the blue collar fields, but high schools no longer promote trade schools. There are severe shortages in all blue collar fields with incomes starting $10,000 a year more than what a person would get with a four year master's degree in business. Americans are just getting lazy.

A decent wage paid (at least $2 above the present minimum) with an opportunity to afford health insurance for hard manual labor would attract Americans from all walks of life. i.e. high school dropouts, former prison inmates., documented immigrants who endured the legal passageway to America.

The neo-cons would force everyone who doesn't agree with them to do the dirty work. A neo-con would never do anything that they see below them. Liberals would chip in and do whatever it takes to improve America. Any legal immigrants are welcomed with open arms.

no one said we didn't want immigrants. We just want legal immigrants. Learn the difference. Then try to ask again intelligently.

i disagree with that... i agree, too, but I mostly disagree... my hubby is unemployed and would LOVE to have a job, that some of these illegals have. It is so easy to steal social security numbers and make cards, and to steal birth certificates, and to sell them so that these ppl can become "legal." I think if they want to come into this country, then they should be made to fight for it... Let them come in and fight for the right to live here. Make THEM go to Iraq, and fight. Why should our soldiers give their lives when these ppl can come into this country and live for free? I say make them fight the war in Iraq,if they want to be in the country. If they make it back alive, great, if not, well, then they fought for their country...
