I want information on ancient languages of Witches. I mean magical witches, not necessarily Wiccans. Without the critizism I`ll tell you that I believe in certain witches that fight demons, and I don`t care about your opinion on that unless you agree and can give me information, so don`t bother to tell me your point of veiw unless its positive about mine. Also if someone can teach me any of those and/or Latin(and by teach, I also mean pronuciation if you can).

In my opinion, Hebrew is better than Latin when used in such ways. I know almost nothing of Hebrew, though.

I would also suggest reading up on Enochian, which was discovered/invented by John Dee and Edward Kelly during the 1500's. See the following sources:
- Enochian Magic for Beginners by Donald Tyson
- The Complete Enochian Dictionary by Donald Laycock

Latin For Witchcraft

Generally speaking, if you want to learn the 'languages of witchcraft' you will have to learn most of today's modern languages. On the other hand, if you want to learn the languages of Ceremonial Magick, then we are talking about Latin, German and most especially Hebrew.

Enochian is used mostly in invocations; I don't think a proper grammar and syntax has been worked out for that one to use in conversation. Learning Sumerian is really a tough one, but doable, I suppose, at the University level.

You can get learning materials for most or all of these at your local library and a good deal of help online. You may find some of the libraries connected with MS Reader and Project Gutenberg very helpful as well. MS Reader can give you fairly good pronunciations in the process.

Hope that helps.

O.k first off witches do not believe in demons. Demons, the devil and such are Christian entities and we witches are not christian therefore they do not exist in our belief system. Second Latin is not our majikal language, it is Gealic or Celtic (hard c sound as in car not as in circus). The majika alphabet is called the Ogham (pronounced Oh-yam) , out majical writing is either in Ogham or Theban.

If you are wanting to learn this to be a witch, I would suggest an attitude change, you already have some preconcieved notions. For further information on witches I have given you a link. This is the absolute best site for info. It is run by witches that have been practicing for decades.

You might also check your local library system, and the regional library system.
Our local library has "Learn" Latin (and about 75 other languages) on tape and CD.
Might be worth checking into.

"I`ll tell you that I believe in certain witches that fight demons"

Ever notice how close "Halliwell" is to "Hollywood" in spelling? There's a reason for that.
