Well I am afraid it is not all as simple as described so far.
First, enlist in the Infantry...and ask for the Ranger option.
You go to airborne school and then to a real nice place called RIP. The Ranger Indoctrination Program...a fun filled time.
If you pass that you will be assigned to a Ranger battalion...notice I have not mentioned Ranger school yet. You will have to earn that doing every lil crap detail you can think of at the Ranger battalion and be treated as a sub species of life because you do not have a Ranger tab...
Now if you get through all of that...and go to and complete Ranger school...then you have more options....again if accepted you could apply for
Special Forces Qualification Course and possibly Delta later...
All very physical in nature...with a high failure rate
...good luck.

first you join the army and graduate basic then you need to go to airborne scholl at benning then you get assigned to the 82nd at bragg. there you compleate the ranger indoc program. then you try to complete ranger school.it is hard but it is worth it.(the grad rate is more than 25%)then you will either go back to the 82nd or go to one of the 3 ranger battalions.then you will need to try out for special forces.if you complete the q course then you will need additional training that you can(halo, etc.)you can apply for testing for delta but it only happens once a year and they are very strict on selections.you dont have to be ranger of special forces qualified but it helps.

you're evaluating apples to oranges....they're each and each of the cream of the crop! yet you do not listen about Delta stress because our gov doesn't reconize them. Why? because the gov needs them to do issues that are afraid will cause them to seem undesirable to something else of the international, yet nevertheless sense they prefer to be executed. There are some good secret agent novels available (I ignore the authors) that provide you with a good theory of the kinds of issues they do.

You need to Graduate from Basic Training.

Then you need to go to Airborne, Air Assault, Ranger, and various other courses to even be considered for Delta.

and yes you would have to get up early, and no you probably cant handle it.
