I am not even worried or afraid of anything and my head will get light and I feel "detached". I was thinking hypoglycemia, but it only happens at night and usually after everyone else in the house has gone to bed. Any ideas?

Hypoglycemia is a good start night time is often when a low can occur, given the result however my guess is a simple pinched nerve or normal low blood pressure.

A person with Hypoglycemia has to be especailly careful donating blood becuase a sudden drop in Blood glucose causes dizziness, fainting, rushing feelings and loss of bowel movements.

I have Hypoglycemia and it is something I have to watch carefully when donating blood. It is not fun nor pleasent to experince. Talk to your doctor and he can confirm low blood sugar as a cause.

I have hypoglycemia, and sometimes late at night when I havent had anything to eat for a while I get that lightheaded feeling, but I'm not sure what the bowl movement has to do with it. You should probably talk to a doctor.

Hmmm...makes me think something could be going on with the parasympathetic nervous system. I would certainly get a good physical exam along with an ECG. Hypoglycemia is a good guess, although it could be a mild case of syncope. Then again, it might be a sleep disorder. And as always, there might be strong psychodynamic factors figuring into this as well.
