It is in human nature to want what you do not currently have, while taking for granted that which you already do. Even Moses is claimed to have included the commandment "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife."

There are a few types of people in this world, one is the appreciater, second is the appreciatee, and the third is the one who is never satisfied.

The appreciater, is always grateful for what he/she has and understands the value of what he has and never wants to lose it.

The appreciatee, is the type of person always looking for praise and even if they are praised and loved, still want more appreciation from people

The one who is never satisfied, is never satisfied with what he/she has, and is never satisfied with the amount of appreciation they get from others...therefore resulting in unhappiness all the time.

Now, to answer your question, many people don't appreciate what they have because they don't know the value of it, and don't appreciate the value of it until it is lost...and sometimes even if it is lost, don't know the value because they are too self consumed. And that is the problem with many people in this world...they are too self consumed and too self centered to notice anything outside of themselves to appreciate things around them or even be grateful....and these people tend to be sad in the end.

most people don't know what they have until it's gone, it's a sad thing. That's where the phrase "You never miss your water til your well runs dry" comes from.

A lot of people love the chase and actually having to work to get something, so when they feel like it comes to easy, then they don't appreciate it or the person as much.

possibly they just want to feel better then everyone else. haveing one thing is not as important as having another. its sad that they can't see the real world is most likely much worse then what they are living. also these people who just keep begging for more may never be completely happy with anything. these people probably may replace something or someone they have lost in the past.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder! Maybe when you were together your partner didn't realize how much of a catch you are!
Reevaluate your situation and if it's worth working out the kinks then do so but if not chalk it up as a loss!

because some people just don't care, their selfish and all about theirselves and always want more. I appreciate everything that I
have because I might not have what I got now I was just blessed.

It's the way people are. They only appreciate what they're about to or have lost.
