Yeah, there were a number of religions that really espouse the whole harmony thing. Unfortunately, after accepting the other religions with open arms their new brothers stabbed them in the back. As a result alot of those have died or are in their last death throws of existance(eg. zoroastrians). There is hope though. A few have risen from the ashes starting again(gnosticism) when people discovered their written works hidden away from the religiofascists who would burn their books.

I think alot of religion, although it might come from a sincere desire for God, is a perversion of what it should be. As for the communal thing. I think it should be personal and it shouldn't be wholy defined by a certain group. I kinda understand your view that religion should be very personal. But I don't understand those who do not think it should be communal when pretty much every thing else is. If you share something with others why not experience it with them. Just about everything else we do we try to also experience with someone else. In church you can find dogmatism, authoritarianism, and other such miseries. And in some churches you can find a family who will support you for who you are.

What this world needs is an agnostic prophet: someone who can preach a message of tolerance and benefit of the doubtism, without having the lack of unity that athiesm tends to offer. This world needs someone who commands the power of the almighty maybe, but who can let people ACCEPT not knowing the truth, that they only think they know, and that that's O. K!
Huzzah! Unite, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers and daughters, all those who are willing to accept the SECOND truth! Unite, and do nothing OTHER than uniting, for uniting in itself is our purpose!

Uh... look at modern civilization; look at the west.
All thanks to the church. Religion has contributed more good than you are willing to realize.
Even Islam, did something good for society - something crucial, actually: They brought algebra to the west. Where would we be without algebra? (I hate algebra, but I gotta admit, it's true)
So just calm down and think of where we would be without organized religion: we'd still be savages.
If religion was personal to everyone, then this world would fall apart - seriously. We'd Go back to being warring tribes.

on condition that you ignore about each and each of the actual international claims. like the UNations gave it to them. and they offered land with funds. And gained wars. And it grow to be unclaimed territory from the chop up of an empire. And Jews lived there for over 3000+ years, & had each proper to self-rule in a sliver of the middle East. The bigotry is that human beings falsely accuse Jews of saying Israel because "God gave it to them." that's no longer what Jews declare. They declare God promised it. and is the reason to them, why adversarial to the percentages, all those actual international causes labored out. The bigotry is that human beings declare they don't look to be for conflict, only for wiping Israel off the map. ==================== Nature's nook posts catagorically fake bigoted make up prices about israelis which includes the Menachem start up one on the end. Menachem start up by no skill reported something like that! Thereby exhibiting he/she has no means to vet info & receives it from fake sources which will luckily lie by skill of their teeth for his or her conflict.

Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.

No, its time we started focusing on something else besides religion, like starvation, disease and housing. Throw the books away, stop giving your money to religions, and start helping your fellow man.
