Yes it's normal. Your rectum is not designed to easily accommodate something the size of a penis. Wash the area well, and put a little bit of anti-bacterial ointment on the OUTSIDE of your rectum. If it doesn't stop in a little while, call a Dr.
Treat it like any other wound. Keep it clean and dry, and wash after each bowel movement. If you can, get your s/o or someone you really trust to look at it and make sure you didn't tear bad enough to need stitches. For any more worries or questions on it, talk to a Dr. so you don't have any problems later on.

And, for future reference, use LOTS of lube, go slow, and be patient. While the anus is pretty much designed for EXIT ONLY, can have anal sex, but it needs lubricant...that area isn't self-lubricating like a vagina. As for the tampon comment... NO. Don't put anything else in your rectum until it's healed! That can lead to infection!!!
Just take care of your body so you don't rip again!!!!

Our bodies are equipped with " SPHINCTERS". They are located in our anal opening. Having anal sex initially stretches these spincsters and depending how large the item entering the anus the spincters are torn and stretched and they are unable to repair themselves leading to bowel incontinence. Once damaged no surgeon regardless of their medical ingeniousness can repair this damage. Look at what you have to look forward too; any patient who has had prolonged anal sex can no longer control elimination as there are no warnings as to when the bowels will move. Trust me on this as I am a nurse and I've worked with aids patients and seen first hand patients who have no control over their bowel elimination as a result of having " anal sex". It's sad, I tell you, and people still continue to do this even when they know what can happen to them and that there is no, absolutely no medical science to correct the problem. Sorry honey, it sounds like you've " torn your sphincters ".

oh my goodness! you have torn your dookey shoot! that's suppose to be an exit only honey. no entrance is recommended!
that's the reason its bleeding just get you a tampon and shove it
up in there besides it shouldn't hurt because a d**k is bigger than
a tampon and if you can handle anal sex than u can handle a
tampon stuck up your butt. try and see if it will stop the bleeding,
if not you may have to have stiches.
