Why would you want to put a "list" in PPT?
A simple list consisting of Title, Artist, Writer, Label ... could be done easily in Word or Excel.
In Word, it would be a Word table. Create the table and be sure to create a header row. Select/highlight the header row, click Table, click Headings. This will make the header repeat on subsequent pages. You will also want to make sure a row does not split. This is done differently in Office97 and Office 2000. Click the help button for step by step.
When you want to alphabetize, select the whole table. click Table,Sort, then indicate the column on which you wish to sort.
Commands are a little different in Excel. You would still need a row of header, but to alphabetize you would click the table-select button, click Data, Sort, and indicate the column to sort on. To have the header row appear on each page, you click File, Page Setup, Sheet.

"Power Point" is not the best program for doing what you want to do. It is great for creating presentations and slide shows.
If I were you, I'd use "Excel" to create the list you want, it has the capability to sort the lists you create in it.
If you still want your list in "Power Point", try to create it in "Excel", sort it the way you want, give it the look you want and then insert it into a "Power Point" slide as an object. Resize it so it fits the desired layout of the slide and save the presentation.
