Certainly it's the fastest growing religion...
Especially in third world countries, where a influx of Muslims can get away with forcing villagers to convert. The villagers are given a choice... become Muslim or die! A very reasonable choice if you ask me.
That's why these terrorist organizations spread so fast and are impossible to control... because they operate at the civilian level. If you rat out that your neighbor is a guerrilla, you and your family die because it will get back to you.
Peace and love surely must be the reason for such amazing growth.

Yes I believe this , I became muslim one year ago today and have met many reverts/converts who were hindu , jewish & christian, but I have yet to meet anyone who was Muslim and decided to convert to another religion.
Polygamy is probably a small factor in the increase in the number but not much, it is very unlikely that someone would convert just to become a second third or fourth wife.
(And for the record: Polygamy is not a game to fulfill sexual desires as many non Muslims might think , and is not as common as the media suggests that it is. There are specific rules to be followed (justice) as stated in al Quran . )

You need to be careful when you are grouping ALL muslims together. The Wahabi sect has academies and schools all over the world. They teach agression, jhihadism and hatred. Because the populations of the world are getting younger, there is a plethora of young, impressionable minds for them to brain-wash.
The real question is: Can they sustain their numbers when so many of them are being found, imprisoned or killed.
A rational person, can objectively see that Hezbollah, Al Queda and other terrorists are trying to gain power through hatred, intimidation, false imprisonment. In other words they are trying to "beat their way of thinking" into those around them. They will never gain the respect they are so desperate to seek in this way.
You do not see Jews strapping bombs on their bodies and blowing themselves up in German restaurants to teach the Germans a lesson for the Holocaust they put them through. You do not see Kurds blowing up Arab mosques in Saudi, Arabia.... What is happening now in Lebanon is a purging of the terrorists that have held those good people captive for centuries. They are worth saving, and given the right to speak their voice and have a government of the people, not of Hezbollah.
In conclusion, it is not the "7 virgins waiting for them" or polygamy. It is their depraved way of thinking that by brain-washing the youth they can control them better and demand respect. However, that only works in their small circle of terror and their numbers are depleting. They don't fight face to face, like men. They fight like cowards and the free world laughs at their inadequate masculinity.

Read the Quran. It may change your mind about Islam. So many of you lambast Islam yet have no idea of the teachings. I was raised protestant and taught Sunday School and all that. I now consider myself to be agnostic. Polygamy does not contribute to its growth but rather the teachings of Islam. Be informed before you make your judgements.

Plus share clever, a million individual changing to Islam makes a plenty bigger bounce in factors than a million individual changing to Christianity being that there is two Billion Christians interior the international.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world (www.religioustolerance.org) mainly in U.S.A and Europe. Many of the famous personalities like Cassius Clay (Mohd. Ali, boxing champion), Yuri Barnes (US basketball player), Cat Stevens (Yousuf Islam, european pop star), Jermaine Jackson (brother of Michael Jackson), Yousuf Youhana (Mohd. Yousuf, cricketer Pakistan) A.R.Rehman (musician, India) and many more.
Polygyny is contributed little in it.Polygyny is also allowed in Judaism as Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) had three wives and Prophet Soloman (peace be upon him) had 100s of wives.Polygyny ialso allowed in Hinduism as King Dashrath, Pandu ,Lord Krishna and many more have more than one wives. As per the 1975 census of India Hindus are more
polygynous than Muslims. The report of the ‘Committee of The Status of Woman in Islam’, published in 1975 mentions on page numbers 66 and 67 that the percentage of polygamous marriages between the years 1951 and 1961 was 5.06% among the Hindus and only 4.31% among the Muslims.

Actually millions of Muslims, especially in Africa are converting to Christianity...
When Jesus sets you free from the bondage of religion (especially Islam) word spreads like wild fire and entire nations start to respond.
Oh, and Millions of Muslims are getting very disillusioned with Islam. When they find out how Jesus can set them free from bondage and sin, many leap at the opportunity.

I think it is growing fast but not as fast as some people think it is. I think that polygamy does contribute though.
