Mine is cheese, preferablly cheddar, but a mild cut that will melt well since some sharps tend to get oily on melting. Maybe some onions, but they have to be fresh, and diced, preferablly Vidalia.

The only other topping combo that comes close is crmbled frsh Bleu cheese, cracked pepercorns, thick cut bacon, lettuce, and tomato (gotta be really red and fresh). Not much on mayo, mustard, or ketchup if the meat is juicy and fresh. Oh, and make mine medium to medium well (closer to well for the Bleu burger).

I forgot: roll actually is ancillary and doesn't matter to much to me, but it has to be fresh!

Lots of folks are already overweight so rule out mayo, American cheese, bleu cheese--any kind of cheese, you don't need it. If you want my own favorite, it is Burger King's double hamburger, and say "add heavy pickle," that way you'll get more than just 2 dill pickles, more like 6 or 8 depending, and the usual dose of mustard and ketchup which, in my opinion, is just about as perfect as it can get! Their onions are usually pretty mild, so if you want to branch out, say "add onions."

The next best burgers out there are White Castle Hamburgers or Cheeseburgers available in the few White Castle Hamburger joints still out open or in the freezer case of your favorite supermarket. They only come with diced onions, so you can add whatever else you want to, microwave two at a time for only 30 seconds, and you're in heaven. They are extremely tasty but quite small, plan on eating at least two and perhaps four.
