One of my favorite drinks is a chocolate malted milkshake with a raw egg added. It will put some weight on you if you make it a regular habit, but you will never forget how good they taste. However, raw eggs can give you salmanilia poisoning unless you are quite sure of the fresh source of the eggs you are using. It probably won't kill you, but you can get pretty sick for a day or two if you happen to get it from either a raw egg or even from not rinsing and cooking ordinary chicken well enough. Just be careful.

Some raw eggs contain salmonella and bacteria, but there should be no problem if you have a strong immune system. Many mousses like chocolate mousse are made from beaten raw eggs, and the Japanese traditionally eat beaten raw eggs on rice.

Raw eggs and cooked eggs have identical nutrition content. There is no advantage to eating raw egg. Raw eggs carry the potential of food-borne-illness, usually salmonella. Chickens are subject to being infected with salmonella, and the eggs they lay have it inside as well as on the shell - so cooking them would reduce the risk of having salmonella.

Either raw or cooked eggs are very nutrituous for you and have lots of health benefits. Eggnog traditionally has raw eggs, as brandy cream for your pudding etc. Of course if you have your own hens at home, they should give you very healthy eggs or get free range.

Only elderly people, babies, toddlers and pregnant women have to avoid raw eggs as salmonella poisoning is most dangerous to them. In a recent study in the UK only 9 out of 28,000 eggs had salmonella so you'd have to be pretty unlucky to get it.

They are supposed to be healthy for you, athletes drink them raw in shakes, etc. I don't feel it's too safe because salmonella lives on the shell and the longer they sit around, the more salmonella could seep in through the shell into the egg. Yum, right?

Raw eggs contain bacteria that can make you really sick (salmonella) I knew a guy who drank raw eggs for the protien (UGH!) but you get the same nutrition from cooked ones. Come to think of it I havent seen him in YEARS, maybe they finally did him in :O......I wouldnt risk the salmonella myself, it can do a nasty number on your gastrointestinal system. ( I think there is a method for blanching an egg for a few seconds in boiling water, but I cant recall exactly)

Ah! No! Uncooked eggs in general can carry many diseases the most notable being Salmonella which is BAD. Eggs do have a ton of protein so if they're cooked they're great.
