Actually you would get very little money from each book you sold.
Different groups hold copyrights on various versions of the bible. So first these groups that hold or own the copyright will get some money.
But even those that are no longer copyrighted, the publisher that prints them make thier money, the stores get their money.
Unless the church actually sells the bible they don't get any money from it.
The Catholic Church does get money from approved Catholic Bibles, normally they publish and print thier own though church owned publishers.

Well you do show your Bible ignorance, because God and Jesus are both living.
As for money for Bibles, they go to a lot of places. Some goes to the people who translate it into english. This is why there are a few so they make their money. Some also goes to the sellers and printers of the Bibles. If you think the price is too high, just take the one next time you are in a hotel room.
Most churches get money from tithes and offerings.

Excuse you. God and Jesus are NOT dead. Churches don't get the money from Bibles. Obviously, the publishers get most of the money.

Same thing happens as with books of Shakespeare's plays or other ancient works-- the money goes to the publisher, the store that sold it, and on newer translations the translator. Except that many Christian bookstores donate a part of their profits to charities; some more than others, you can ask at local ones or probably find it on their websites.

diverse non secular communities carry copyrights on quite a number of variations of the bible. So first those communities that carry or personal the copyright receives some funds. What they do with it truly is as a lot as them, it frequently is going to their church or is going in course of furthering their message. yet even those that are literally not copyrighted, the writer that prints them make their funds and the shops get their funds. except the church actually sells the bible rapidly, they don't get any funds from it. Many places provide bibles freed from cost.

Churches, atleast all I know of, don't get money from Bible sales. The money from sales of Bibles goes to the publishing company. Churches get their money from tithes and donations of their paritioners.

The money goes the same as on any other book - part to the retailer, part to the wholesaler, part to the publisher. The same as any other retail product.
