If you're 54 and your hair is still on top of your head, you're a far better man than many. Whether it's growing or not is a matter of interpretation. Do you, for instance, regularly wear hats? Have you got hair on your legs or feet and does that still grow normally? Is it thinning at all?

The reasons for the questions is that's what your dermatologist is going to want to know. He's going to rule out breakage from the hat, diabetes disrupting circulation, etc. Make an appt with your doctor to rule out the obvious, then get a referral to a dermatologist to work on the rest.

Hi! I can see by the lack of real responses here that we have a few (un)funny people aboard...Thats ok, there are a few real reasons hair doesn't grow or appears not to grow. One is that the hair follicles have become clogged with sebum or other substance. The oxygen is cut off to that area and growth is slowed or ceased. Nioxin is a product designed to clean out the follicles and get your hair growing again. Its not a miracle drug for baldness (please don't buy into the stuff they sell on the T.V. it doesn't work!) but a real solution IF thats what is ailing your hair. There could also be a problem with your immune system or it could be male pattern baldness. At any rate you should feel good about yourself hair or not! Some men are sexy without hair!

Why not try the laser brush. It's supposed to stimulate the hair follicles.
Look on e-bay for less expensive ones, cause some start at around 500.00.
There is also another device that produces an eletrical stimulation, and its not as expensive.
Good luck on your hair regrowth journey.

i were u...i would just go bald. i hate it when old men use comb overs or toupees. that is so tacky. we can actually tell if it isnt your hair which makes you look embarrassed. but i think there is a treatment where they take hair from the thicker part of your hair and move it to the troubled area. sooner or later it grows back...great sucess stories, but will cost you a good penny.

I would say to see your doctor. You may have a condition or a vitamin depletion. He may be able to help.
