If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Hi James,
when I was younger I had bad acne. The best thing you can do is avoid to much oily greasy foods and most of all drink lots of water. Your nutrition plays a big part in it. Lots of fruit and vege. Oh yeah, you must remember to wash your face as bacteria contributes big time. And try not to touch your face as your hands will usely have bacteria. Stress doesn't help with acne either, so try not to stress to much aswell. I asure you what I say here is totally 100% accurate. Good Luck

I've been in your position. It would never go away. You need to go to a dermotologist. Before that, I tried proactiv and all the other over the counter meds. It helped a little but you could still tell it was there. To be honest, the pills that you'll get from your derm are the only solution. The other stuff will either temporarily get rid of it, or get rid of only a little. Trust me on this!

I can so understand what you are going through.I have wasted so much money on every product out there...however,I finally went and seen a dermatologist.I was on a med for a month (I will find the name of it for you and get back to you) and then began chemical peels and micro abrasion. What a diiference.I now have a clear complexion. My best advice go and see a dermotalogist. They will give you a plan that meets your needs.Good luck to you!

I am sick to death for people saying wash your face more. If you wash it that much you make your skin even more greasy. And for diet another rubbish about skin. The best way to clean the skin is from the inside. By this I mean take 8 oz of apple juices plus quarter tea spoon of epson salt. What this does is clean out the liver. If the liver is cleaned out the skin will function better.

Try the Clear Skin Regimen by Acne.org, I set a goal of three months for myself last April and stuck with it, after a month my skin was completely clear, and since I set a goal farther away it was easier to achieve, as I didn't have my hopes up for a quick fix.

Wash wash wash. Drink water all day. Keep your hands off your face. Change your diet because something you eat could be causing acne.

Before you go to the dermatologist, check www.mayoclinic.com for info on what causes acne, so you can discuss it intelligently. If it is one of the skin conditions caused by yeast (Candida), the you can get basic information regarding yeast syndromes through the link on the Welcome page of www.hufa.org.
