The pain varies in patients since we all have different pain thresholds. It started out acute pain as I had a disc herniation. I have pain that radiates into my shoulders & down both arms & into the fingers. The low back pain can travel into the hip & down the back of my legs & into my toes.(called 'sciatica pain' Numbness & tingling occur intermittently. Sometimes one side will hurt & the other side is ok.Sometimes both sides ache. Usually, if neck is ok-the low back hurts...& vice-versa. Dropping things & tripping over your feet happen. Too much walking, sitting, standing can make it worse.Nerve pain can also cause bladder or bowel dysfunction. The weather can cause the joints to swell causing added pain. Heat/ice packs, Lidocaine patches, accupuncture, massage, chiropractic care are a few things that can give relief

hot showers help relieve pain. aleve or advil are also good to take.
walking or swimming will help keep from stiffening up.
