What Is The Best Credit Monitoring Company?

I'm guessing you are referring to the extra service attached to credit cards. It's constantly offered to credit card holders on their statements and as ads inserted into statement envelopes. If so, generally this is a waste of money. It is a huge profit producer for the credit card companies.

You can pull your credit for FREE three times a year. Congress passed a law more than a year ago allowing you to get your credit report free once per year from each of the three agencies. Go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com/... It's the website officially authorized by the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act).

So why spend on a monitoring company? To protect against ID theft? I promise you will find out or become suspicious before the credit monitoring service does. Next, they will do no better than you viewing your own report on a regular basis--and it'll do you good to become familiar with it. Credit monitoring services also promise to freeze your credit if your ID is stolen. But you can do the same thing just by filling out a quick web form on each credit reporting agency site (Experian, Trans Union, Equifax).

I hope this helps you.
