What about if they, during young adulthood, decide to be one or the other and has the operation to do so? What about if the parents decide during infancy to operate to make it a boy [or girl] but later in life, the child, now as an adult, identifies with the opposite gender and is therefore "homosexual"?

Would god send them to hell for that?

Remember, hermaphrodites are born with both sex organs that are fully operational. They produce both semen and ovum and even have breasts that produce milk (obviously in adulthood).

Mommy to seven: Sorry, but you're wrong about them being sterile.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermaphrodite#In_animals

"Simultaneous hermaphrodite (or synchronous hermaphrodite): The organism has both male and female sexual organs at the same time as an adult. Usually, self-fertilization does not occur"

Your scenario is interesting.

Living a "wholesome Christian life" doesn't get ANYONE into Heaven. Only accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life does. A man cannot "earn" his way into eternity.

First of all, most hermaphrodites are sterile. Remeber the two sex hormones cannot exist together in enough srtength to allow fertility. Yes, I know women produce testosterone, but not a lot of it.

No, if anyone is leading a truly Christian life, they will not go to hell. That includes not acting on homosexual impulses. Being a homosexual is not sinful- leading the gay lifestyle IS.

Hermaphroditism would not clearly exist in people, and the only people who've the two intercourse organs are people who've had some degree of hormonal and/or surgical intervention to look that way. it is not attainable to be born with the two as a results of fact male and woman genitals use the comparable tissue, they only type in any different case. Intersexed everybody is born with genitals that are no longer hermaphroditic yet don't greater healthful the traditional male or woman anatomy. many times they are inbetween in some way. maximum intersexed everybody is assigned a gender as toddlers, many times according to which surgical technique may be the least complicated and supply the final effects (this very commonly includes intersexed human beings being raised as women). some intersexed human beings later come to understand that the intercourse assigned to them as an little one replaced into incorrect, and then they could have scientific care to opposite it. many times, human beings already understand what gender they are whether their physique would not tournament.

Salvation is a gift from God. It is in no way related to what you do or don't do. God called David a man after His own heart. David did some pretty awful things, but God still made him the king of Israel from whose seed came Jesus. My hope is in the same God as David's God. He is the Father of the way, the truth and the life. He is my redeemer. Praise the Lord for His sovereignty to draw whomever is His pleasure to Him...no matter what they have done or not done. Hope this answers your question.

Remember that God is forgiving.
In this case, and you're born with both organs, I'd say you yourself ( not your parents or doctor ) through prayer and soul searching would have to make the decision of whether you're male or female and go with that.
He will be a fair and righteous judge.

God isn`t out to punish us for being normal. He wants us to live a life that puts him first.By doing that we arn`t going to go out and break any commandments he gave us.We arn`t in control of how we are born.We do the best we can in this life and have faith in God ,and Jesus as his son, andthe Holy Ghost as the comforter left here with us,and live right. That will get us into the Kingdom of God.

Just ask George Bush. He knew that the only certain way to preserve the sanctity of marriage between himself and Cheney was to get a sex change.

oh really it was always my understanding that generally even though hermaphrodites had both sex organs they usually weren't fully functional.

I can only hope that if there is a God, He wouldn't punish them for being who they are, or who they want to be.

Heck...I don't believe God would punish anyone that badly at all. I don't believe in hell.
