My very dear Son, extremists will always be looking for a reason to hate anything or anyone that differs from their own interpretation of the Writings. The fact that people are willing to kill not only themselves but many innocents is wrong. God loves, Man hates. Most Muslims are just like their brothers and sisters in Christianity or Judaism. They want peace and want to live their lives in it. Blessings on you.

Salam (Peace)!
Both of the previous answers i read gave you the wrong sources. With the media constantly running bad and hateful news on Muslims it is not a surprise of such a rise of hatred. The source of website you were given on Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) was wrong! If you want to learn about the Prophet and his ways then learn from true and practicing Muslims. To answer you about the idea of extremism which is not part of the Qur'an or the Sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Extremism is not something new. If we use common sense, we would automatically figure out that it has always been there. People have used extremism throughout the world to express their views and demands. Islam forbids any acts of terrorism, killing of innocent and suicide. These acts are against Islam. The Qur'an and neither the Prophet (PBUH) encouraged such acts. In fact, Islam is a true, pure and easy religion which promotes peace and unity. Islam is all about obeying our Creator and spreading His laws and commands. And why should a person be stopped from spreading the orders of his Lord when it is our Lord who created and granted us everything! Why shouldn't we be free to obey Him and Please Him?
I hope this answered you well inshallah (GOD WILLING).

Muslim extremists are responsible for terrorism throughout the world because of that other flawed, man-made book written by a questionable character. So, why even bother studying that hateful, barbaric piece of nonsense?

They mislead vulnerable people with their misinterpret ions and lies. Typical Muslims & their Imams follow the good guidelines spoken by God to Mohammed. The Koran says that if you suicide you definitely don't go to heaven. It teaches non-violence and respect towards others and other religions & cultures. It also says that a good Muslim must follow the laws of the land they are living in.
Remember, there are radicals & crazies everywhere!

There is an expression called "jihad" or" holy war." Most Muslims take that to mean , a personal war against what is wrong in themselves or in the world aroung them. For example a jihad against being overweight or some other character defect. Another example is a "holy war" against violence, or poverty, or hunger. The extremists have taken the idea of "holy war" way out of context.

from the Hadith. The Quran isn't the only "holy writings" that Islam holds sacred. . the Hadith (the record of what Mohammed did and said, as recorded by his followers) is just as sacred.

to see what exactly he said and did that causes them all to want to kill innocent people, go here for all the goods on this evil pirate, child molester and tyrant:

http://www.prophetofdoom.net

it will open your eyes.

here are the opening words on this website page (that I just gave you the link to):

"Islam in Muhammad's Own Words
Islam is a caustic blend of regurgitated paganism and twisted Bible stories. Muhammad, its lone prophet, conceived his religion solely to satiate his lust for power, sex, and money. He was a terrorist. And if you think these conclusions are shocking, wait until you see the evidence.

Critics of Prophet of Doom claim it is offensive, hatemongering, and unnecessarily violent. We agree—but we didn't write those parts. They came directly from Islam's scriptures. Over the course of these pages, we quote from almost every surah in the Qur'an—many are presented in their entirety. But more than that, we put each verse in the context of Muhammad's life, quoting vociferously from Islam's most trusted sources. "
