I'm asking because I am 43 years old and all of the sudden, there are a ton of things I used to like to eat that taste just plain AWFUL! I ask my boyfriend if he tastes something funny when he eats certain things that I do - and don't like at all (use to but not anymore) and he says it tastes just fine (he is 41)

I'm 47 and I agree with you. I think our taste buds are looking for new flavors and get tired of some of our favorite foods of the past. For example, I have never tried some Tabasco on eggs until recently... and it was a pleasant surprise how tasty and different my eggs were. I think we're looking for new sensations as we grow older, so try some new spices on your favorite foods and you just might satisfy those taste buds.

I'm 31 and I might like different kinds of foods these days than I used to...I always just attributed that to "growing up" and having more expensive tastes (can't live on Ramen noodles anymore :). I had never heard that about taste buds changing with age, but there might be something to that. I know a lot of 50 years olds (who are going on 70) who still think they can eat like they are 5 years old-pop tarts, coca pebbles, etc-so maybe it's not true for everyone.

I hear you at 21 I changed and then at 31...so maybe it's every 10 years for me...it's true that it's supposed to be every 7 years.

Thats cool, I've never heard that before, someone will probably be able to answer your question better than me. But it sounds rite to me, I used to hate strawberrys and now I love them. However, some things never change, there are some foods that I STILL can't eat, and its been a while. I hope you find the answer to ur question.
