No, you didn't give him a urinary tract infection, but you could have nicked the end of his penis and when he urinates it bleeds. Call the vet in the morning and have him checked out. You don't want him to get an infection if you cut him.

my dog did this. He had an enlarged prostate. The vet neutered him and it got better. I'd take him to the vet to get checked out. I know my dog was in a lot of pain.
