because god smited all the fish?? plus he was instructed to build an ark with stalls for all the animals, not to build an arkmaster 3000, with rotating cushioned chairs and fishing poles built in, so he probably wasn't very good at fishing without this, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway, oh yeah, he also packed a loaf of that never ending bread, so why would he need to fish, other than for bonus points??
