1st, i am so sry for your dog, now, back 2 your question, im not an xpert, but i dont think this is cruel at all, in my opinion, dogs are just like people, when people are sick, they dont want to eat, but they still have to, even if forced, thats how they get better, so, what you're doing is good, your dog has to eat, and that could be the only way right now, but like i said, im not an expert, so i could be completely wrong, anyway, good luck, and hope your dog gets better

No, that doesn't sound cruel. My dog accidently licked our carpet after we had just got it cleaned and got blisters on his tongue. He just stopped eating, so I got some wet dog food and added water so its sort of like a liquid and fed it to him with a turkey baster thing. I think when the dog doesn't eat, there might be something wrong that you don't know about. I didn't know he had the blisters until I took him to the vet for not eating. You should take him back to the vet to be on the safe side, but until then, I think you're doing the right thing. I hope your dog gets better.

Try feeding your dong something different until she is feeling better. Wet food may be more appealing, or if you're feeling motivated, maybe some cooked chicken with rice and veggies (this was the only thing my dog would eat when she was pregnant and couldn't have any salt).

I don't know if it is cruel or not. But I would asks myself, is the dog in pain? How old is she? Can she recover from this? I would talk to my vet about these questions also. But if it were my dog and all this was going on, I would talk to the vet about helping her out of the pain and misery. It is better to love them and let them be out of pain than to keep them and them not know anything but pain. How are you getting the medicine into her? Good luck.

Nope, you are doing the absolute right thing!!
It's common for really sick dogs not to eat, but they still need the calories to heal. She will start eating on her own soon, but until then, you need to keep feeding her, however you can get the food in.
Good luck
