We keep animals overnight after they are spayed so if they get sick it won't be on your floor. Yes, they can get sick after the surgery. Don't feed her anymore tonight and then in the morning feed her like you would normally. Good luck.

Certainly, it can be... a very common side effect of a general anaesthesia is nausea, actually. She should've had an empty stomach pre-surgery, of course. I'm assuming she was taken off food and water completely after her last feed the previous evening, as would have been the vet's instructions? I wouldn't worry too much... as long as she's drinking plenty of fresh water and taking it easy, she should be all right - just watch her carefully, and check her temperature. If there's any cause for concern, you can always call your vet or if after hours, take her to an emergency veterinary clinic. All the best - hope she'll be okay!

It's not unusual - anesthesia tends to cause reduced motility of the GI tract and that can cause vomiting. That's one of the reasons they're supposed to go in with an empty stomach. It's also a bad idea to feed anything for several hours after they wake up; give only water until the dog is fully awake and coordinated. (Sounds like your vet left out that last part.)

*Repeated* vomiting could be a sign of something more serious.

I would say probably yes. Your dog just had surgery. The pain medicine and anesthetic may be enough to make it pretty sick. I had a minor surgery and days after I had it (I was taking pain medication) I got pretty sick and puked. Those medicines are pretty potent and they can screw your body up for a while.

yep normal. she has been under anasthesia and it probably made her nauseated plus the ride home from the vet. Its normal nothing to worry about. Just make sure she is drinking plenty and doesnt develope an infection at the surgery site

Oh absolutely. Im guessing she had some form of anesthesia, which would cause that side effect.

Yes this is normal. Give her a day to recoup and take it easy she should be back to normal in a few days.
