I'm a guy and I'm about 5'6". I met a girl on Match and she said that she only dates guys that are 5'8" and above. I know that's kind of shallow or whatever. I just really like her and we have fun. I don't want this height thing to be a deal breaker.
So what kind of shoes or other things would make me look 2 inches taller without it being obvious that I'm not really that tall? I've tried different things. I even started spiking my hair up a little so the extra hair would make me look taller.
Please help a guy look a little taller. thanks, john

There are things called lifts or lifters that go in your shoes. No one would ever see them unless you have to take your shoes off. I just hope you never plan on going to the beach, then you would be screwed. Try standing up straighter, that helps also. You can get the shoe inserts by just looking them up on line. Most shoe stores can order them.

Well you could wear nice dress shoes that have a little bit of a heal to them and you could get shoe inserts. I'm not really sure where you can buy them but I'm pretty sure if you went to a shoe store they could point you in the right direction. Celebrities do that type of thing all the time. I mean look a Tom Cruise with Katie Holmes before she got pregnant and then look at him later on he almost looks her height but really he isn't. But you have to realize that eventually she's gonna find out and then what are you going to do?

R U serious? Deception on the first date? If you make it pass the first date, let me know how long it lasts. If you're bad looking or something is wrong with you then that's one thing but if you have it then why waste the time? Be upfront with her. Tell her you know her preference but ask if you could have a chance. If she thinks "height makes a person" or she couldn't date, or be seen with, a shorter guy then move on!
Honesty isn't always the best policy! But it's almost always.

What does she do go around with a tape measure and check a guy's height??? If you don't tell her she won't know. Personally I have to say that her preference is a little weird. I mean does it matter the height of someone?

Have you hung out with her before? Surely she noticed you weren't that tall. You're out of luck unless you want to take the chance of wearing some heels....just come clean. If she is that shallow about you being shorter than her "standards" give her the boot. There's plenty of other women out there who would be willing to go out with you regardless of how tall you are......

Ugh. I despise shallow girls like that. You are only a couple inches under, she shouldn't care if you are sweet and caring. But, if you are desperate, spike your hair and get shoe inserts.

I think there are things called in-steps that you can place in your shoe to make you look taller. Try it and see if it will work.

1.Platform shoes are the trend, maybe you can start the trend for men.(No! Prince already has). or
2.Take a deep breath, now lift you head and shoulders. Now i don't know if you would meet your desired 5'8', but you would at least feel like 6'.

Well ... u can start with the hair. Poofy is not in, but that's a start. Maybe you can wear a cap / hat if it's appropriate.
Shoes will help, there's a lot of runners that are higher up these days ... u can try that.
You know, forget about all that, just BE YOURSELF, if she doesn't like you for who you are, then she's not worth your time.
