I am a non-practicing Roman Catholic. I have always feared dieing, I think in part because I really have no faith. I find it hard to beleive that there is something else after we die.

What's the best way to go about finding faith and believing in the teachings of the church?

I think we all fear dying. Thats okay and normal. It is scary to think of the unkown, and to wonder what happens after we die. But having Faith in something is trusting what you cannot see. We trust oxygen, we trust gravity, space, our emotions, instincts, we can trust God, too. You said that you find it hard to believe that there is something more for us after we die. I disagree with you. I passionately beleive that God created this world and all the people in it for his glory. But at the same time he gave us free will and choice. Not all of us choose to see what life really is. Not all of us decide to follow God. But for the ones who long to be saved by God, for the ones who accept him as their saviour, there is Heaven. Try not to picture it as the commonly portrayed white flowy place with angels in halos...... Imagine waterfalls and clear blue seas, imagine unbrideled horses that long to be ridden, imagine the greenest grass you've ever layed in, seeing every person you've ever loved that sought Christ. Think of beauty, purity, no pain, and the God who made you. If you are seeking to learn more about Faith and the church, I would reccomend that you Read the bible maybe an NIV version. You don't have to start at the beginning and read all the way through. Decide what you want to learn about first. There are so many sories in the bible, Love, Laughter, War, Heartache, Passion, just pick one. By no means am I pointing a finger at you though. I want you to understand that I hope you find Jesus. As a christian, I want the best for you. I do not want to come off judgemental, critical, preachy, or holier than thou. I am still learning things about God and the bible every day!!!! If you have any questions or just need someone to talk to, you can email me anytime. Good luck in your search. I will be praying for you.

I am a non-practicing Roman Catholic. It is a dying religion. Religion is a form of law, it is used to control people. I'm checking out Scientology. The Catholic faith is losing members due to the Michael Jackson style scandals & they have had to close many churches, and pay out millions to victims in lawsuits. We know right from wrong. Read your bible, do research. We know there is only one God. Peace be with you. Live life to the fullest, live for the here & now, not for the sweet by & bye. Remember your ten commandments, thank God each morning you awaken. Don't fear death; Don't worry, cause none of us will get out of here alive anyway; when you die you will either go to heaven or hell, & if you go to hell, you will probably be so busy shaking hand with all of your friends, you won't have time to worry!. So live a good life & You will be all right, the bible tells me so.

I think the answer is very simple, really. The thing to do if you truly want to know peace is to tell God that you are sorry for your sins, that you believe in His son, and that you want Jesus to be the Lord of your life, as well as your savior.

This is the first step. I would suggest you get into a good bible study, find a good bible teaching church. The bible says that "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God". I can promise you that, the more you learn of the character of God and read and study His word, the more your faith will grow and grow.

I pray that Jesus show you the way to righteous and joyful living.

Try Phatmass.com it's got a lot of good stuff. Go to confession, it's an excellent way to clear the air between you and God and get a free listening ear. Also, pray that God will fill you with the Release of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit can give greater insight into the bible and the mass, and give you greater desire for prayer and worship. Find out if there is a Charismatic prayer group or community in your area. These people can not only help you with your walk with God but can pray over you for healing.

first off the teachings of the church are flawed. you need to look to your bible for the answers, that is where the truth that sets men free can be found.

Where Are the Dead?
· The dead do not see or hear or think.—Ecclesiastes 9:5.

· The dead are at rest; they do not suffer.—John 11:11.

· We die because we inherited sin from Adam.—Romans 5:12.

You won't find any peace in the Roman Catholic Church,I've been raised in Catholic faith and been through what you been through. Just put your whole faith in Jesus and God's Word.
THERE'S NO MEDIATOR FOR HUMANS TO GOD BUT THROUGH CHRIST.(it's in the Bible read it)God Bless!!!

You may need to do what I did, make a clean break with Catholicism. I started reading the Bible on my own, and slowly, God spoke to me through the pages of Scripture. You don't need a priest to interpret it for you. Start with the Gospel of John, focus on Christ, His life, His teachings and what He did for you.
Faith is not something you whip up yourself. It is a gift from God. If you pray earnestly for it, God will give you faith, bit by bit. It is written, "And you shall seek and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. " (Jerm. 29:13). Seek Him and Him alone.

faith in God is the main considerable situation. whilst i wanted God the main whilst cases for me have been relatively undesirable God spoke back my prayers. whilst My relatives became struggling with and abusing me God have been given me out of that project and right into a miles greater useful place. i'm now married and that i consistently wanted a splash woman. I prayed and that i became sent a pretty little woman. God is wonderful, in case you call and pray for Jesus and your in decide for of help, he listens to each prayer.

accept Jesus Christ in your life..going to heaven is just a choice,if you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and Lord then you will be with Him when you die...have faith on Him,He died on the cross so you wont be paying for your sins in hell. The bible says "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord"
Theres nothing we can do to win salvation,God already made it available for us through his Son Jesus Christ all we have to do is accept it..Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves,it is the gift of God;not of works lest any man should boast"

God bless
