You really should avoid artificial sweetners just as much, if not more, than sugar and corn syrup. Things like aspertame are evil compounds that mess with your brain chemicals. It alters how your brain registers things and can actually cause you to eat more. Do a search online for the effects of them. You'll be surprised.

I think it's ok as long as you are drinking water also. I try to get through at least two bottles of water before I start on the diet soda. I used to hate the taste of diet soda, but now I am used to it, b/c regular soda is just empty calories to me now.

No diet soda is not ok. Yes it has none or few calories. But the biggie is that it is full of sodium. Salt makes your body retain water.
Drink water for your main liquid when you're dieting.

Diet soda isn't as good as drinking water, but it is low calorie. The only thing you need to worry about is the sweetener in it (like aspartame) and the caffeine. These things have been known to promote weight GAIN. Drink in moderation.

It's not really about the calories as much as it is about the sodium. Diet sodas have a TON of sodium in them, which makes your body retain water. It can also interfere with your metabolism, causing your body to hold onto body fat.

My grandmother became into appalled as a results of fact my mom purely drank weight loss application coke (seven an afternoon is in all probability her usual) and ate m+m's the whole time she became into pregnant with me and my brothers, whilst i became into older and he or she became into pregnant w/ my youthful sister, same subject. Anywho we are all sensible, my brothers are the two in prestigious colleges and my sister is doign o.k. in the third grade. :-) do no longer worry approximately it, heck i'm pregnant and having a caffeine unfastened weight loss application coke good now. definitely now, if something's going to electrify a toddler's strategies function (ok as properly FAS or drugs, etc.) it relatively is the father and mom' strategies function. IMHO besides. it relatively is a lot extra advantageous to drink weight loss application soda than to finally end up dehydrated and with low amniotic fluid and get a c area! Jeez that is terrible. stable luck expensive, and don't hear to any of this new age hippy dippy trippy stuff, for god's sake our grandmothers have been smoking and ingesting. they had have you ever reside in the woods and consume only uncooked ingredients. Peace

Diet soda is one hundred percent okay. I've been drinking it non-stop and have still lost 22lbs in the last three months. Artificial sweeteners are completely safe and harmless. I've used them for twenty-one years now with no ill effects. All the bad hype is just urban legend.

Diet soda contains ASPARTAME : This has properties that are very much like MSG which has been proven to be cancerigenic. To be avoided if not eliminated.

Diet soda may not use sugars, but they use chemicals like artificial sweetners like: Aspartame, Acesulfame potassium, Sucralose, Neotame, and Cyclamate. These are derived from chemicals like aspartic acid and phenylalanine and other chemicals I can't pronounce.
There is still ongoing research to determine if these sweetners will cause cancer, bladder tumors, and brain tumors.
Do you really want to put chemicals in your body?

Diet sodas can kill you if you are allergic to the Appertain that is one of the ingredients in diet drinks. It almost cost my son his life. If you become sick all over like the flu, this is the Appertain.
