Yes, it;s called the 20 second rule except if it's a public restroom in a hub of transportation, in which case you get 20 minutes!!!
So if you find some gum and you suspect it has been in the toilet for less than 20 minutes, chew away.......

There is no 20 second rule, 3 second rule, or any other.
People use the term "3 second rule" when they are kidding.
Once something comes into contact with a germ, it has the potential to have the germ on it.
As far as being "safe" to eat; some bacteria aren't that harmful, but I would never eat something that had fallen on the ground, in a toilet, etc.

hmm... well Ive heard 5 second rule but that never made since to me... How is 5 seconds any different than an hour or 20 seconds... what ever is going to get on it is going to get on it in those first few seconds when it hits the ground (or water in your case). So to be safe dont eat anything that has been on the ground or in a toilet for ANY amount of seconds...cause who knows what else is there.

No - it isn't. i assumed you meant on the floor of a public rest room, in this feeling i'd nevertheless say no. yet dropping it in the rest room is a 'HELL NO!'. diverse cases for diverse places. at your residence on the floor is 5 seconds. might want to correctly be longer no matter if it truly is on a timber floor. outdoors on some grass is 5 seconds. dirt and on the pavement is a no, except for sure the food you dropped isn't moist on the outdoors e.g. A skittle or a malteaser is alright to %. up after dropping it on a pavement. Chewed Chewing gum is a no yet unchewed chewing gum on a pavement is a definite. yet on a public lavatory floor is a no and in any rest room, exceptionally a public one is a diverse no.

No it is not ok, it only takes 1 second. But I guess you are still alive as you asked this question. You should have at least washed it off first before putting it in your mouth.
Have you not watched the show Dr.Know, he tells you how long it takes for stuff to get contaminated.
Some folks even thinks it's ok for their dog to lick them in the face, it's not.But on the other hand if you let the dog lick a cut or sore on you, it will heal up VERY fast.

Well, if you're using a public toilet in a train station, your immunity must be pretty good in the first place. Next time, let it marinade a little longer, it could be a better flavor.

I'd waste my hard earned money for that piece of gum. What did it cost me? Less than a $1 for the whole pack!

good job there meatsickles! however next ime you should not use your hands, they contain germs. the real culprit there if ever there was one. just go an d quickly bob for that piece of gum. if you truly feel bad that it fell in the water, you could throw a dime in there before so theres a real purpose for getting it back. plus you'll get your dime back.
You just keep on going girl.
