I can't believe the stupid answers on here. Obviously people with no idea what they are talking about.

You bet. Every child with cancer is asked to participate in studies and often give sample tissues to store and use for research. The generous funding from people everywhere, the Terry Fox Foundation, all the people who have lost loved ones to cancer, your financial contributions allow the research to continue and better the drugs, equipment and research that makes this all possible.

We are getting very close. Don't stop now. You don't know how terrible it is until it touches your lives, especially the life of your child.

It should be in the forefront of all our minds to contribute to cancer research and help put an end to it. Every day new strides are made. As the mom of a cancer kid I can tell you, there is no better cause, especially when you see how much these children endure and their resilience. And the fact they go into remission and are able to carry on is a miracle. I wish it were so easy for me to forget what this has done to our lives.

Give and the day will come sooner than you think.

And there's already a vaccine for cervical cancer. They say it should be given to girls who have yet to have their first periods to be most effective. I'm sure it will be tried in the US long before it comes here to Canada.

By the way "CANCER" is just a heading for a series of diseases that attack various parts of the body and have various sub-categories and are very difficult to identify without a biopsy and then classified by a pathologist. There is a whole variety of drugs, and treatment protocols, and much depends on the stage of the cancer (1,2,3, or 4) as to how well it will respond and if it's even treatable when it's gone beyond 3 and 4.

there has been a cure for cancer as long as there was such a thing as cancer. Just as well as for HIV, and Lord knows what else. Everything is based on money, the government has underground facilities where they handle all of this stuff. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they didn't create all of these diseases in the first place. Just think about the profit, it's definitely not in our pockets!

absolutely not, unfortunately cancer is an industry......it needs to make money, and you don't make money by solving the problem and eliminating the source of your wealth. There will be advances, and most certainly better and ofcourse more expensive treatments, but never a vaccine or sure fire prevention method...no way, it would cripple the medical industry if cancer was preventable.....It's sad, I know, but it's all about the money

the only known way to rid the cancer is by balancing the body's ph level. the foods we eat today cause our bodies to become acidic which allows tons of dieseases to fester and grow as they please. by buffering the body's ph over seven and slightly alkaline, the cancer can no longer grow and dies off. this is used in the diets during chemo. every "magic bullet" only toxifies the gut still leaving it vulnerable. ph balance may be the only thing ever. that's why i go for preventative.

maybe someday...no one knows when, except it won't be this week.
besides, don't confuse urself. we r not immortal...we all must die someday. what do people die of? car accidents, animal malling, diseases, dangerous sports...if u cure cancer, that only means another disease will take ur life (granted that nothing else happens to u).
