A Muslim uses his left hand to wash the related organs after urination & defecation. If no water is available, this can be done with any other suitable materials (e.g. toilet or tissue paper). The right hand is used to handle food & drinks during a meal.

Salam (Peace)!
Yes water is better than toilet paper. With toilet paper you can only dry your hands and with water you can actually purify and remove impurities. Muslims use water because in Islam cleanliness is half of a person's faith. Just by keeping yourself clean and PURE, you are pleasing your Lord. I hope that clarified that inshallah (GOD WILLING).
Take care!

And how is this a religious or theological question?
Sounds like you're in the wrong catagory.
You mean if I wash my backside with water instead of using a roll of paper it will validate my religious beliefs?
Maybe I'll start the Church of the Bidet....... now that would be different.

I would really find it quite hard to stop a runny nose with water. Not to mention a bloody nose.
Throwing water on a tree ain't fun! how about toilet paper?
I've had my monster in law's face printed on toilet paper, something I couldn't do with water.
So your question is quite ambiguous.

Not only Muslims do that am sure. It's just a question of habits. If in their culture it was like that some decades ago then of course this generation will follow.

well samar, the muslim religion is just a few hundred years old ! the hinduism is thousands of years old.. the system of ablution of the anus is a hindu custom.
it is proper to wash the anus than just wipe it with toliet paper, because the faecal matter gets in between the anal crypts and it is difficult to clean it off as one tends to contract the anal sphincter while cleaning.
but still it is an improper way of cleaning, as you can see for yourself. rub mud onto your hands and wipe it as clean as posssible with tissue. you can see for yourself how well you can get rid of the mud. the same with the faecal matter. SO ABLUTE LADIES AND GENTLEMAN. STAY HEALTHY AND AVOID PILINOIDAL SINUSES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No... you just have to know how to wipe. It takes practice. Plus, what if you use wet toilet paper? I do... But then again I'm half Muslim

Havent heard of such a disgusting question before. I think both are fine becasue soap is used at least once a day when you shower.

Is it always muslims that are shouting that their culture is the best on here? I report more of these crap "questions" than I do actually answering anything.
