Its very normal to grieve a loss of a loved pet. No other can take her place, but it sure can help ease some pain. Your memories and feelings will never truly go away and that's Okay. Just know that you can build a new relationship with your new furry friend and while you're spending time with her, don't compare the two as your new one will have her own personality to love. All the best and take it slow. It's Okay to cry.

No pet is replaceable, but I believe that the soul of my cat recycles into a new body and comes back to me. Always a little different but scary sometimes how much the same. Maybe I think this just to comfort me. I am so sorry for your pain. I know. Your cockatiel was lucky to have you coz it sounds like your truly loved him/her..

I had a male cockateil for 9 yrs. .. he got out of his cage while it was out on the deck.
It took 2 yrs. before I wanted another bird. I have one now, and he is pretty cool, but he doesn't have the same personality.
You will come to love your new bird as well, it will just take time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Even with your new bird you will still mourn for your lost friend. Just remember that this new bird isn't the same and just as with kids each one fills your heart in their own way.

Why did it die? Cockatiels usually live 18-20 years... if you killed it don't get another one.
