This is a puzzle. The fact that she only does this in the summer would rule out food allergy. Does she go outside? When I sit on my grass outside in the summer I get really itchy skin.

Cats just make up their minds sometimes and want to split. They run somewhere real fast and we can't have any idea of the reason.

I personally don't believe in ghosts.

The old school teacher in me has to tell you to do a spell check on your posts. Take one or two words that spellcheck replaces for you and write them five times on a sheet of paper. Each time you write the word try to do it from memory. If you do this you will "own" this word for the rest of your life. A good technique if you are in school or even as an adult. I didn't learn to spell diarrhea correctly until I was sixty. Learning is a life-time experience.

I am not being critical of you and I don't think people should disrespect you if your spelling isn't just right. I just don't like your having to be exposed to this embarrassment (and I had to use spellcheck to see if I spelled that one right.)

Hi,

I had a cat some time ago who also ripped out their fur. It can be a number of things from allergies to neurosis (meaning that she is just a crazy one haha). Don't worry too much, but if the skin is raw or getting infected or she is losing weight please take her to the vets.
As for the running scared. Well, it's been my experience that all cats do that and it must mean that we all have ghosts in the house. I have two cats who do that at the same time. I honestly think they are just being cats.
I hope that helps. Take care and go hug your little sweetie.

Our dog was doing that and found out she had allergies. As a matter of fact she gets sick after we mow the lawn. allergy to cut grass. Now she has to take a steroid pill once every 3 days or her bronc. tubes get inflamed. The animal must be at least 1 year old for allergy test. I started her out on hypo-allergenic food from the vet. a bit pricey but she doesn't cough as bad; if you have the cash ask for an x-ray of her chest. also the parasite answer was good. I found out just putting sevin dust on the animal works just as well as the shampoo. You can buy it at a box store. Hope I was helpful. Good Luck..

My aunts cat did this, he would like his fur so much that his fur would come out. They actually do it cause it feels good, and its comforting. You can talk to your vet about it, he might put her on some meds. Not sure why she would run through the house scarred maybe a ghost.

I have a pretty good guess this cat isnt spayed.. because this is very common behavior in unspayed females...

otherwise it could be food allergy related which may be elevated in the summer due to the heat (causeing a heat rash on her skin) avoid foods that use corn or corn meal as the first or second ingredient on the bag

My cat is siameze too. I have to say she is a little neurotic (compared to our moggy) and does pull out fur when she's spooked - she gets spooked very easily. I checked with the vets and if the cat is not doing itself harm its OK and usual for the breed. My vet did recommend trying some hormone therapy to calm her down.

It may be psychological, but given the time of year I'd also suspect a flea allergy. Treat her with Advantage or Frontline, even if you don't see any fleas. If that doesn't clear it up have your vet check it out.

First of all there are no ghosts in your house! Your cat might have fleas or ticks or even intestinal parasites. Have her checked with a vet. It is common for cats to suddenly start runniong when they have fleas. In their minds they probably think they are running away from what's itching them. Please see a vet. Your companion is worthed after all.

Never heard of that before. It's too weird, something is definitely scaring her or biting her butt. Have you gotten her checked by the vet ro rule out allergies or diseases?

She may be neurotic. She may have a heat rash. She may be helped by a good flea med. Siamese cats are just kinda crazy. The inbreeding thing. But my favorite cats are siamese mix.
