Sorry, but pride is a sin so to be proud you're christian is, well, a sin. Are you ready for hell?

Do not dispute this with me as it was your god that made this rule.. or did humans create this rule?

Yep, we Christians sin on a daily basis, but we ask and receive forgiveness. That forgiveness through the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ protects us from Hell. You have not read your Bible thoroughly enough to make your argument stand up.

If you are going to spout our religious beliefs and what you think God says, then get it right. Pride is a sin, just like getting drunk is, just like a ton of other things are. No where in the Bible does God say that you go to Hell for sinning. You go to Hell for not accepting Christ. He knows that we are not perfect and therefore he knows we will sin, that is why we are to ask forgiveness for our sins. So, yes I will dispute this because you don't even have a clue what you are talking about! Our God did not make that rule. Sin is not what sends a person to Hell, refusal to accept Jesus is what does that. So I ask you the same question, are you ready for Hell? I would hope that the answer would be no, cause I don't want to see anyone end up there. Next time you want to "put us Christians in our place" , make sure you are acurately telling what the Bible says.

That's not what the pride in the bible is talking about. Pride would be refusing help when you need it, or thinking your better than everyone else. Being proud of being a Christian is NEVER a sin, unless of course you use this to look down on or oppress others, or think you're better than other people.

First of all, you are misinterpreting the word "pride" here. To say someone is proud to be a Christian, or Proud of their children's achievements, etc. , is not the kind of "pride" that is a sin. In this sense it means "very pleased with", or something similar.

However, In the bible, what "pride"(the one that is sin) means is to be haughty or puffed up about yourself with a superior aire.

The SINFUL PRIDE is "intellectual pride" which is all about thinking that you are superior to God. In other words you believe in your own intellect as being superior and that you don't need God;s input on anything. "Intellectual pride" dictates that all of our genius or all of our successes or all of our achievements come from our own superior mind. "I don't need God." The sin of Intellectual pride puts us in the position of God, or makes us think we are complete without Him. If we cannot be humble enough to give God the credit for our successes, then we are committing the sin of pride.

It seems to me that your statements are very prideful (the sinful kind). When you said that no one should dispute you and added your contempt for God and His rules you displayed "intellectual pride" By the way, "Pride" is the most deadly of the 7 deadly sins. ("Deadly " refers to the death of your soul.)

You also assumed that if someone is proud of being Christian that they are going to hell. This assumption is "Judgment" which is also a sin. So therefore, you, my friend, are not off the hook in the whole matter of sin and punishment.

You see the purpose of our life on earth is to choose God or not to choose God. That is not a question, but a reality. That is also why God gave us rules and precepts to follow, so that we will know what He expects of us and how to CHOOSE HIM. If we know all the rules set down by God and CHOOSE NOT to OBEY THEM, then we run the risk of losing our soul in the end.

If we DENY GOD"S SAVING POWER and refuse to acknowledge His Mercy or Love for us, then we have committed the unforgivable sin, the sin against the Holy Spirit.(that is only because when you feel that way it is impossible to repent or ask forgiveness) But take heart because God loves you so much that He will give you every opportunity to change your heart even at the very end of your life. After all He died that we may live.

There's a few ways to look at what you are commenting about.

I'm proud of Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord and happy that I have eternal life because of Him. I should not take pride in myself. I have sinned and cannot do anything to merit eternal life. It is a gift from God.

Pride is negative/arrogance. Christians are imperfect still because we are humans. If we as true Christians become haughty or prideful, God will will try to get our attention to correct us, to repent and change our ways. Pride is a sin...and only leads to destruction.
He wants only the best for us and others.

Sorry you have encountered the negative pride which absoultely
has no place in our life with God. Hopefuly, God is dealing with them now or soon to correct the situation. We humans are not perfect in this life. Pride is a temptation for anyone including me.

My hope is that you will look to God for the answers and true perfection. Humans make mistakes, even Christian humans and God chastises even those who follow Him.

God offers us all mercy and forgiveness thru Jesus Christ who took the punishment for our sins past, present, and future.

I was scared to death at one time of this god that you talk about. I I cried out often because of the negative things and misleading things I had been taught. I needed to know who God truly is.

I heard that God said Seek and You shall find. So Imperfect me in my imperfect way did seek.

The Living God of Hope drew me near to Him. My life has never been the same. Thank the Lord.

It is sad that we do not represent our Lord in the best light all the time. God is not finished with His work in us. He is still refining us. We are still on the wheel being shaped the way He wants.

Have a good day and I hope you find the God of Life and Love not because I know it all, but because He loves you and desires you to commune with Him. He deeply desires the best for you now and in eternity.

I won't argue or dispute that..in fact PRIDE, along with Disobedience, is the very first of sins committed...its what caused the fall of Adam and Eve and caused Paradise Lost. You are so right.

So...Prideful Christians and everybody else too...you better take stock in all this and see where you are and where you need to get to.

So Reverend BIBLEBURNER...since you are starting to see the light, can I invite you to church? May God bless you for allowing yourself to be used by Him. May He operate through you again.

You obviously haven't done your homework on sin or forgiveness. Jesus told us that we were all sinners and would remain sinners until the day we die. He offered us a chance at forgiveness, and a way to make life hear on earth better. I'm sorry that sounds wrong to you. I'm very happy to bring heaven into this world. It makes lives better. I'm not sure pride is the rigth word for that. I'm doing what God made me to do - to love one another and Him. Try it out some time, you will be surprised.

"Proud" and "Christian" are mutually exclusive terms. There is no pride in being a believer, we are saved by grace, not by anything we have done, therefore, there is nothing to have pride in. Secondly, the only sin that will send someone to Hell is rejecting Christ. That is the unforgivable sin.

Having pride in something and be proud of yourself or someone, is a whole lot different from being prideful. Being prideful is what got satan kicked out of Heaven, this is placing yourself number one.
