I hate my weight. I'm a 19 year old male, about 5' 5"-5'6", and I weigh 110 pounds. I hate how thin I am and how you can see my bones in my chest. I've always been embarrassed to take my shirt off. I don't eat so much, but it's not because I want to watch my weight. I just don't often feel hungry. I feel comfortable on a small amount of food. I don't feel sick or anything, I feel fine, but I am still concerned about my weight.

For breakfast I usually eat 2 bowls of cereal. Lunch is a sandwhich of some sort, maybe peanut butter or a veggie burger, or a soup or something. I try to eat a banana or apple or some sort of fruit too. I usually have a few snacks throughout the day before dinner, like donuts, candy bars, or just some candy. Dinner is something like macaroni, lasagna, etc. Once in a while I have cereal for dinner. After that, I may have a little more cereal and a few snacks sometime before bed, and that's what I usually eat on a normal day. Is that normal? And if it is, why

am I still so skinny? I really hate it. I've tries eating more, but I'm just not hungry and I don't feel like forcing food down my throat. I walk to the bus stop twice a day and work, which cumulates to about 50-60 minutes of walking. That's usually my daily exercise. Do I sound unhealthy? And what can I do?

Don't worry about your health. You are better off being a little thinner than obese. When I was your age I would have been the same weight. Before I was married anout 20 years back I had dropped iin weight from 160# to 126#. I soon put it back on again. I am almost 30 years older than you now but only weigh 50 pound more.I can eat like a horse or eat very little - I sometimes would have had a dinner at lunch time and another at tea/supper time. However I did burn off most of the excess weight by walking. In 5 years time you may well have put on a few more pounds but you sound fit and healthy enough at the moment.

My guess is that that's in your genes. Are your parents the same as you? If so, that confirms my suspicion. If not, then your genes might have been mutated before birth. Some of my friends are always very thin even when they eat alot. Try changing your diet to more carbohydrates and proteins. They are the ones that help you to gain body-mass. You tend to have a high metabollic rate because your body-type is an ectomorph (like a giraffe). You may even want to purchase mass-gainer protein shakes that's free from steroids to help you out. You also need heavy meals to build up your weight. Meanwhile, do regular exercises to keep fit. Consult a nutritionist if you have to.
