The Catholic Church is universal as the name implies I for one am well aware and pleased of our diversity. I would not want to attend any church that consisted of one race.

Although I do not know if they were Black, there have
been at least three African popes:
• St. Victor I (189-199)
• St. Melchiades (311-314)
• St. Gelasius (492-496)

There were many candidates of different ethnicities and nationalities running for the position of pope after John Paul II, they ranged from an American all the way to a black candidate. But the former nazi won, go figure.
