Maybe some people are lonely and might be great chatting friends if you gave them a chance. I don't think it is an obsession, just a desire to connect.

Do you remember what it's like meeting new people..for some people its 10times scarier then that.This is soooo much easier and you can be your absolute self, without worring what other pple think

Because this way you don't have to give up your e-mail addy, because this way you can talk(yahoo has voice messenger), but also because they don't wanna write letters...
