I'm 20yrs old, and I've never dated anyone that's had kids.

I can't stand people who act like children are contagious diseases. YOU were a child once and so were your parents. I will tell you from experience and share with you what I know that I know that I know.......
That is...men withOUT children are some of the most selfish egocentric men in the WORLD. They only have to think about themselves...what THEY want and what THEY need and don't try to fit into their world and need a little emotion! Please! That's like asking for their liver.
But a man with children has to ponder....to consider.....to include....to share....to love.......and he just might transfer these qualities over to you.

Just tell them. Have a sit down discussion. If they don't bite, then just sneak around and go out with him anyway. Just keep whatever restrictions ur folks have on u in mind so they won't be suspicious. Be glad that u can atleast date. I'm not allowed to date...due to cultural norms, and I'm older than u. So I'm lying to my folks and have been in a committed relationship for a long time. They suspect, but don't know for sure. But I do my best to be a good daughter, even though I'm doing this disobedient thing.

Facing down your parents on any issue you don't think they would approve of is never easy. I would wait to see if the relationship developes and if after a few dates you think it might, then I would just tell them. Allow them to share their concerns but be firm in saying you will date whomever you choose. If you let them manipulate you into breaking it off, then you will never become independent and a grown up. Just tell them they might understand more than you think what if you were the one with the child would you want people scared to date you?>??????

Say: "i'm going to date this guy, he already has kids." When they react (if they do), say "well it's only one at the moment."
You are an adult, start acting like one.

Just be honest with them. You don't need their permission though they do deserve your respect. That is what honesty is really. Also, think about what they may have to say. You don't have to agree, but do regard it.
