A badge on the outside and slightly different interior. Remember, this is the begining of the "Fox" body (aka Ford Fairmont) Mustangs. Some had the mighty 150 horsepower 302 cubic inch engine. No it's not European or Australian.

Ghia is an Italian design firm... the Mustang Ghia was a Mustang II with a few added on extra trim pieces.

The Ghia, I believe is the hatchback model. My 79 mustang is a ghia, and a body code R, identifying it as a cobra.

An Ugly little car that Ford tried to make a name by putting Ghia and some frills in it. Of all the Fords, this era 'Stang saddened all ford owners... This was sold state side also..

You could order a '79 model with outlandish pinstriping like on the '78. However, the '79 was a somewhat larger and more practical car, based on the Fairmont instead of the Pinto. Ford must have had a good thing going with it, as they managed to keep the '79 model's basic underpinnings in production until 2004.
