-go to England and see how British people speak...
-listen to Bristh radio stations online and repeat what they said
-and you can actully learn how to pronouce British accent by studying Phonetics (linguistic term for sounds).
-learnig "International Phonetic Alphabet" and then look up the dictionary. RP stands for British accent/proniciation and GA stands for American accent/pronociation.

Perhaps a couple of courses in dramatics might help you. Try the method acting class. Visit England!! Use a mirror! You'll get it. But why do you want to fool the neighbors?

There are speech coaches out there that do that sort of thing. I think they're expensive, though. Why would you want to fool your neighbors into thinking your English? I don't think you'd need a good fake accent to fool the neighbors unless they are English.

May I suggest finding a better reason. Fooling the neighbors seems like a fairly empty and trivial endeavor. Perhaps if you are preparing to play a role on stage as an Engilsh person, that would make sense. Listen to recordings of Engilsh speakers, and work on mimicking them.

You could go to speech classes/acting school. However you need to be careful because different parts of England have distinctly different accents. You need to be sure that accent you pick, is actually from the part of England you are claiming to be from, or you WILL be caught out eventually.

Hehehehe. Well short of going to England I'd suggest watching those horrible Harry Potter movies over and over again. My nephew is 9, a Harry Potter fanatic and he has a damn good fake British accent.

I don't really know. It came to me naturally. I go around school with my perfect British accent and people find it cool and funny. And some actually thought I was from England!

Try listening to British people talking a lot. It might help.

Watch everything British on TV, and then practice a LOT by yourself.. mimic their accent when you watch them on TV, take note of their pronunciations of words.. the more you do this, the more in tuned you would be to the British accent and then you can try having conversations or talking to people in that accent. Perhaps you can try watching the BBC too. Everyone there speaks in excellent British accents, the 'high class' ones too, not the 'low class' kinds. i mean.. they are THE BBC channel after all :)

You HAVE to e-mail me! I've been interested in doing this for awhile now, I think it would be great. I'm particularly good at mimicking sounds, so I think I could pull it off fairly well. Let's see if we can find a tutorial or class or something online somewhere and share ideas. In fact, if an audio class were created, I think that would be a great item to sell on ebay.

Get a movie with Hugh Grant in it and memorize the crap out of it. Actually make fun of the things that he says. Everytime I've gone out to make fun of something that someone else has said, I've always adopted it instead. So exaggerate it a little and see what happens.
