The first week is agony.... After that it generally only hurts every time you get them tightened. Just feels like a massive tension on your teeth.
On top of this there's also the ulcers you'll get from the metal rubbing against your cheeks.
Not much fun.... but your teeth will look perty !

ok the spacers r the worst part of the whole experience of braces. and braces hurt maybe the first 2 or 3 days. and then when u get a thicker wire they hurt for another 2 or 3 days but u only get new thickness of wires barley ever cuz theyre r only like 3 thicknesses so dont worry about the pain. it's no big deal.

Good investment. Each time they tighten it, you cant really bite down on anything as it will hurt. but give it a day or 2, it becomes fine. And its not so much pain as much as an annoyance that you feel in your mouth. I personally thought the braces were the worst part..the retainer was fine.

Like the first few days of wearing them is painful... Your going to feel like you want to rip them off of your teeth. But after that, it'll start feeling normal, as in, you'll get use to them. But occasionally the braces might cut the inside of your mouth, and when they tighten the braces, it'll hurt for a comple of days too.

youre teeth might ache when you first get them on, and then when you go in every month to have them tightened. you could always take some motrin or tylenol to help the pain. but dental pain is a hard pain to control. as long as you brush often and then wear your retainer when your braces come off... youre teeth are going to look fantastic. everywhere i go ppl comment on my nice pretty teeth... im glad, they cost an awful lot!

After five years of different levels of braces, I consider myself an expert. :D
Okay, when you first get them they are going to hurt but nothing that pain pills won't dull. After every tightning or replacing of your brace it will hurt but goes away after a few days.
You'll eventually get used to them.
Me, I got mine off a couple of months ago and very proud of the job they did.
:-)

It hurts the first day you get them, And when they need to press down on them it hurts too. But other wise they are fine. Just think about how much better your teeth will look once they come off.

It doesn't hurt at all. You may feel a little sore like I did (and do), But no major pain.
