You're correct in your implication. We are NOT all God's children, though we are all created by God. To as many as believed, to them gave He the right to become sons of God... it's a verse and when I find it I'll get the reference and correct wording.
Our sin separates us from God, and the wages of sin is death. Only through repentance and belief in Christ can we be "adopted" into the family of God.

We are all most certainly God's children, we all are part and parcel of the same original source, the difference is that some souls are knowing this and some are not, this can be understood by the individual use of free-will that is used to reconnect us to God or separate us from God.
If through mis-use of free will the son leaves the fathers home and announces that the father does not exist, then performs activities that are opposed to the fathers desire, does it mean that he is no longer the fathers son? He most certainly is still the fathers son, he is a disobedient son that requires rectification.
That rectification is delivered via a perfect system, that the father has established that delivers an equal and opposite experience of pain and pleasure for each activity the disobedient son performs whilst separated from the father.
However the father is constantly providing an opportunity for the wayward son to come to his senses and once again perform activities that are in unison with the father.

That's true, everyone, even all does bad people are God's children. However, that doesn't mean they'll get into Heaven. Just because you're your parents' child doesn't mean you won't get disciplined, right? That's the same with God and us. He gives us the chance to repent and accept Christ while we are on Earth, but if we don't, out lose.
That is in the Bible. I don't know any specific Bible verses, but if you want, I can try and find some.

We are all God's Children because God says that we are and he's not wacky. Whether we choose to believe or not. God gave us all free will, which means we have the power to choose how we live our life, whether we choose Gods way or the Devils way. Thank God I am his child, I don't want to be where he's not. Just remember the the Devil is a liar.

Wacky ideas. I suppose every person you know who is a parent is terribly proud of their children. Not by a long shot. We give them life, nuture them, watch them grow and hope they make good choices. They don't always and it is true for God's children as well.
God gave us freewill, and those people are God's children too--doesn't mean he's pleased with how they turned out.
By the way that wacky idea comes from the Bible, you know when God created man.

Only God can create a child. So yes we are all God's children. But with the gift of life we are also given the freedom to choose. All over the New Testament we can read about the sinful nature and if we succumb to it we consider Satan as our Father. So to become a child of Satan is by choice.

Yes. You're exactly right. Rapists and serial murderers are God's children too.
God's kids misbehave just like ours do.
This might actually be soothing to parents. God is a perfect parent, and if His kids can turn out so jacked up, it shouldn't be too difficult to accept that ours can too.

If you understood the nature of the living being and the nature of the Lord, you would understand how every living being, not just those who are now in human bodies, are the children of God. Our nature is spiritual, not material. We are not the temporary, material body we currently ride in. Every living being is a spiritual spark every bit as pure as the Lord Himself since we have our origin from Him. Just as a drop of sea water is the same in quality as the whole ocean, we are pure spirit one in quality with the Lord. The difference between us and the Supreme Lord is one of quantity. He is the Supreme energetic, we are His energy. Therefore, yes, we all, no matter what temporary body a living being is situated in now (everything material is constantly changing), each of us is the "child" of God.
To see it another way, the Lord is the Father of all living beings and material nature is the mother. As all of us have material bodies given by the material energy, and all of us are spiritual beings, one in quality with the Supreme Lord, we are children with the same parents. This makes every entity your brother and sister. This is the reason why no unnecessary killing is tolerated by the Lord. Even killing an ant unnecessarily is punishable and we have to pay for that. You and I are no better and no worse than the amoeba, the ant, the cow, the dog or your neighbor. Each of us is situated differently according to our past good or bad activities. But we remain eternal spiritual beings, children of the Lord.

i think people understand that we're all created in the image of God. Every person alive thinks that they have an idea of right and wrong morality.
And i think there is an expectation (and rightly so) that human beings treat one another with decency and respect.
However, i agree with you that Biblically speaking as Jesus said in John the ones who do the will of the Father are His brothers and sisters.
It's a nice humanistic thought that is unfounded in the Scriptures.
Hope that helps,

we are only God's children when we have put our trust on him. If the serial killers have changed their ways, heart, and mind and have excepted Christ as their Lord then they are God's children. When Christ was on the cross the thief who could have been a murderer, became a child of God and he is in heaven. I can't wait to meet him!
