i think your very good to him & he must like doing it if he keeps it up, family dont usually get wages, not for helping out but i know you grandparents the first thing you do is treat them, & wont take no for an answer, i think both you & your grandson have a close relationship he will be happy with his " wage " as that wont be the only thing he gets from you i bet you spoil him rotten, its lovely at his age he finds the time to help you a lot of kids at his age would sooner be out with there friends,

For one, I personally was raised where you dont OWE family. Now if you want to put some money in his pocket and reward him for a job well done (not doing the job because that should be out of respect for no fee) but i think your price is fair. Also depends on your income and how much he does it. Does he also work or is this the only thing he does besides school. What are his grades? is he in sports. If he gets good grades and even if he is in sports or has another job that shows he is responsible and on his way to being a decent man. How many hours does it take? if more than 2, yes 10.00 an hour is more than he would make anywhere else. 20.00 is my limit for my son and not for the job, but for the respect-good grades- and being a responsible boy. ADDED after seeing other answers. dont dare give him more than 20-25....I love my grandma and would give her the world. GRANDMA'S ROCK!!!!!!! You are a wonderful grandmother.

Just pay him a flat rate(30-35 dollars) You'll teach him the value of a dollar and he won't beg you for money.

That sounds pretty decent to me, what's minimum wage, like $5.50 or something? Next time you are at the movies, ask one of the kids there what they get!

Ten dollars an hour is more than fair and square, considering that he is your grandson.
